This is a really good question and scary thought.

Now if either had smart phones, GPS tracking or google maps going at the time of Williams disappearance that could answer a lot of questions as to where both were at the time. OR I wonder if this may have already been looked at with phone pings of either of the two on the day. I wonder if PS had his phone on him at the time when he was lost in the bush and his phone pings have given police a reason to suspect something not quite right there and a discrepancy. That is, is either have mobile phones / smart phones.

Can someone explain why the testimony of these witnesses is closed? Will we get to hear it eventually?

From what I can determine there are several reasons why a court may be closed.
But I wonder if, in this case, it is because there is still an ongoing police investigation and the police don't need it compromised by the public/media getting to hear certain evidence ... or getting to hear police methodology.

I wonder whether William's sister is down to give evidence. There was a statement somewhere recently that she was possibly the only witness to the abduction. I don't know whether it was just odd phrasing, but that the sister witnessed or may have witnessed the actual abduction is quite different to what we've heard before.

Be a bit tough to put the poor mite in front of a court. Perhaps a video of her testimony will be shown? If she has anything of substance to add.

Also, the person(s) breaching the NPO on FB may have tightened things up for the media and public. Perhaps the Coroner is going to ensure that certain testimony/witnesses are not going to be put at risk from any further breaches of the NPO or breaches of any suppression orders.

You can always report them to police. Just copy the web addresses into a document or note, and take screenshots of the offending comments. Then send them to Crimestoppers or go into your local police station. You can report to Crimestoppers anonymously.

That was my first thought. I was thinking of the two women using the names 'Amy' and 'Tanya'. I was thinking they are ex-partners of someone particularly unpleasant and were afraid of repercussions. Also I think prison inmates could be afraid of repercussions for simply assisting (or being seen to be assisting) LE.

Im sure in the very beginning a female officer said a news brief that his sister was with him..imo i can fully understand why it would be kept quite if that is the case

The court hearing the closed court application was made by the NSW Police Comissione without opposition. The media only learned of the orders on Friday last week and is now making submissions to overturn part of those orders so we can hear the evidence.

Bill Spedding’s lawyer has told the court he supports the application to open the court. “We have been sitting outside this court waiting patiently to be invited in,” he told the court. He called the secrecy “perplexing and unreasonable”.
