Robert Donohoe (Taree) is not the same person as Richard Donoghue, who lived at 18 Benaroon Drive in 2014.
However, both names (despite the different spellings) are pronounced 'Don-o-hue'.

His involvement in the SES search is clearly the reason why the Coroner requested old search photos to be rounded up and re-examined in the lead up to the August leg of the inquest.

Thanks for the court updates today everyone.

Can someone please clarify: the man mentioned today at the inquest- does his brother or had his brother lived on Benaroon Drive? Or was this at a different location?
Thanks in advance
Different people - Robert Donohoe (Taree); Richard and Jenny Donoghue (Benaroon Drive).

Is it pronounced Donohue?

Yes - it is pronounced 'Donohue' - but spelt 'Donohoe'. It's a common Irish pronunciation, despite the spelling.

I don't think this Rob is the man, though. Wrong age. It seems he joined NSWFB in 1975, but sex offender Robert's older brother Tim is 45.
Deug, that fire fighter is not the same man as we're talking about here.

  • #1,090
Yes, in the article it says (if the reporter got it right!) that Tim is the youngest.. so wouldn't be Robert's immediate family. I guess the Donohoe clan like the same names!
Robert is 42; his brother Tim is 45.

Troy Brown told the court that while his name was on Donohoe’s timesheet, it was not his signature and it was “above his pay grade” to sign off on any time sheets at the time.

The suppression on this morning’s evidence has been lifted, so we can reveal a witness claimed in court that Donohoe’s work timesheet for the week William disappeared appeared to have been signed by him, but it was not his writing.

Well, I think this question has already been answered .... I put up some words from a podcast earlier in the thread that said it was to see how those POIs reacted to being named.

Those cars in the pic are at the house opposite Ellendale drive, which I believe is 27 and not Sharpleys house at all.
I am not saying that that picture is a picture of the Sharpley's cars, nor that the pic is of their house - just explaining that the Sharpleys have cars that roughly match the description.

So Donohoe had two jobs and was supposedly at both of them that week but neither place of employment is sure of that?

In the podcast today (Lia Harris podcast) they refer again to the two cars but the white car is referred to as a 'sedan' yet in previous accounts and in the diagram it is most definitely a white station wagon. Once again I am perplexed by these two cars and why we were not told about them until a year later. Not to mention the green/teal car and the large red haired man.
