Detective Sergeant Laura Beacroft will take the stand first. She is a forensic profiler who helped put together a “person of interest profile” for the case. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

Second time that Laura Beacroft has appeared at the inquest. She appeared a couple of weeks ago.

NSW Police forensic profiler in the case, Detective Sergeant Laura Beacroft, told the inquest into the three-year-old’s 2014 disappearance she concluded from the finds that William had been “taken away” from the area.
Bones, speargun found in Tyrrell search

Detective Sergeant Laura Beacroft, who helped organise a new land search in 2018, said she understood that was the first time police were looking for evidence of deliberate human intervention and not just signs of misadventure.
"My understanding was it was a new notion," she said

William taken by 'sneaky, complex' person

I think that it is interesting that Laura Beacroft is appearing first today.
Mr Craddock seems to be building the story.

Laura was first at the inquest to testify as they showed what they had done with regard to searching for William.
Now she is at the inquest again, to show how she built the offender profile (presumably) .... right before Savage, Spedding, and Jones are scheduled to appear.

They are not allowed to tweet for at least 15 minutes after testimony, to enable the judge (Coroner) to suppress info if she so deems. We learned that in another case.

Sometimes they are instructed not to tweet at all in the courtroom. If it is considered too disruptive to the proceedings.

The inquest has resumed, with the coroner acknowledging the families in the gallery. “I respect the resolve of the families to remain engaged with this court process,” she tells the court.

The court heard part of her role on the strike force was to “set up a means by which there could be effective processing of persons of interest nominations”.

The court heard there were “no eye witnesses, no forensics evidence, no sign of William whatsoever... no confessions”. Gerard Craddock SC told the court there were some comments made by locals that some residents were “strange”.

“You didn’t really have to do terribly much to get yourself nominated as a person of interest,” Craddock asked. She responded that it was a “low standard” to be considered a POI given the lack of evidence.

The court heard “a full re-canvass of the town of Kendall” was done by the strike force last year. That included interviewing everyone in the area. @10NewsFirst @10Daily
