The court heard a neighbour saw a child in the backseat of a vehicle and thought the child was wearing a Spider-Man suit. It was later found to have been another child, not William Tyrrell. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

The court heard “a full re-canvass of the town of Kendall” was done by the strike force last year. That included interviewing everyone in the area. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

“You didn’t really have to do terribly much to get yourself nominated as a person of interest,” Craddock asked. She responded that it was a “low standard” to be considered a POI given the lack of evidence. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

The court heard there were “no eye witnesses, no forensics evidence, no sign of William whatsoever... no confessions”. Gerard Craddock SC told the court there were some comments made by locals that some residents were “strange”. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

Asked if the street was “very quiet and noise travels”, Detective Beacroft said Benaroon Drive was “extremely quiet”.

Asked also if she had been “sceptical” abut the Crabbs’ evidence, Detective Beacroft said she had “done a lot of work with them”, investigating the claim including visiting them at home in June 2016.

It had been a cold day and the windows and doors at 51 Benaroon Drive were closed when Sharelle Crabb said to Beacroft: “Listen, do you hear anything?”

When Beacroft did listen, she then “heard the sound of a car coming up Benaroon Drive”, although she hadn’t heard it when Mrs Crabb did “two to three seconds before I did”.

Another Child In Spiderman Suit Seen Same Day William Disappeared

Paul Savage walked into Taree Court behind his own adult son today to finally say what he knew about one of Australia’s darkest chapters – the disappearance of William Tyrrell.................

She then heard evidence from Det Sgt Laura Beacroft, who was with the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, before being seconded to the William Tyrrell case in late 2015, to set up a Person of Interest profile......................

Police issued an extremely detailed survey to everyone in the town, including questions on who was present in their homes between 9.30am and 10.30am on the day William went missing, what clubs or groups they were involved in, what vehicles they owned or used.

And importantly, when and how they became aware William Tyrrell went missing.

Man saw child in car wearing Spider-Man suit, Tyrrell inquest hears

Am I reading this correctly?

The witness Mr Chapman states that the child in the car being driven by the female driver and followed by a male in a second car was not the woman drivers child who was visiting the house across the street from him?

Interesting.....

A man living on the NSW mid-north coast just streets away from where William Tyrrell vanished saw a boy in a Spider-Man suit in the back of a car on the morning the toddler disappeared.

Ronald Chapman — who lived in Laurel St, Kendall, about 1.6km from Benaroon Drive, where William was staying — “saw a child in the back seat … up against the passenger-side back seat window and has a recollection the child was wearing a Spider-Man outfit”.

Detective Sergeant Laura Beacroft told the inquest into the three-year-old’s 2014 disappearance that Mr Chapman saw what appeared to be two cars driving in tandem down his street, with the boy in a car “driven by a woman”.

The car following was “driven by a man”.

Sgt Beacroft said further investigations revealed that on the same morning, September 12, a mother and her two children were visiting a resident across the road, and one of the children, a boy, had a Spider-Man suit.

However. Sgt Beacroft said the child Mr Chapman saw in the back seat of the car was not the child visiting the street.

“From the information provided by that child’s mother … it was not that child Mr Chapman saw,” she said.

She said it was “possible” that the child lived across the road, and also happened to have a Spiderman suit.

Ms Beacroft said Mr Chapman believed that the car was travelling with another vehicle, although this may have been a coincidence.

His recollection was that the first car was driven by a woman, and the second by a man.

Mr Chapman is on the witness list for the inquest hearings which are this week being conducted in Taree, about 50 kilometres from Kendall.

Other witnesses listed to appear today include Paul Savage, who lived across the road from the house William was staying at when he disappeared.

Mr Savage arrived at the Taree Courthouse an hour before it opened.

Ronald Chapman was outside his Laurel Street home in Kendall on September 12, 2014, when he saw two cars travelling east, a senior detective told the NSW Coroners Court on Monday.
In the back seat of the first car, driven by a woman, was a boy in a Spider-Man suit, the court heard......................

The detective said while Mr Chapman believed the two cars were driving in convoy, it was possible the cars just happened to be heading in the same direction at the same time.

She said she wasn't sure if he provided a description of the person driving the second car.

Ive read it 3 times and still cant make sense of it.

So we have two boys in spiderman suits in the street that day?

When the coroner Harriet Grahame goes home at night I wonder how she sleeps?

She obviously deals with a huge amount of cases but in relation to William, I wonder if it is on her mind, does she wake at all hours with a sudden thought, does this investigation disrupt her every day and evening thoughts about its perplexity?

Can she simply switch off until the next day?

Does this case frustrate her and sadden her just like it does all of us?

Me either.

It is coming across to me that Mr Chapman obviously has seen a photo of that lady who was visiting across the roads children and he is stating that it was not one of those children in that back seat he saw in the spiderman outfit.

Surely not?

It must be reporting error?

Or me misunderstanding it?

I haven't posted much at all, but have been following this thread. I near choked when I saw this! This would have to be the coincidence of the decade! My goodness.
