Mr Chapman was well respected in the area and the detective sergeant did not think he was making it up.

But in a strange twist – police later determined it was another child being driven by their mum, and not William.

I found it pretty clear. I think the mistake was originally saying the child had been identified.

Craddock SC is now clarifying this point in court, saying “he believes he saw a small boy... to his observation he was wearing a Spider-Man suit”. He tells the court that car and that child has not been identified. Mr Chapman will testify later in the week. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

If he was abducted and distressed he likely would not be in a child seat and screaming and likely standing up trying to look out etc IMO
