I'm still wondering why he didn't go? After all, there were lots of other people to search for William.

I'm beginning to wonder if he ever had planned to go. Seemed to be a lot of fiddling about and wasting time drinking tea etc for someone who had a long drive ahead. IMO.
And presumably a packed bag ready to go??

He said he was going to bring him home to look after him - who's home we don't know.

At first I thought he was bringing his brother back to his own home in Kendall to look after him. Upon reading the tweet again, it could be interpreted as him taking his brother back to [his brother's] home in Casino to look after him.

Savage told the court he had planned to take his brother home and “look after him for about a week” while he recovered. @10NewsFirst @10Daily

I hope investigators got a clear statement from his wife before she passed. If they did, that could possibly help clear up some of the confusion about PS’ morning.

I’m also confused about the BIL’s visit and hope we hear more about it tomorrow. I think I need to go back again and read about the BIL’s testimony in March.

If PS was involved in William’s disappearance, it is very unfortunate that his wife died shortly after. She may have been able to provide some very helpful information.

Well the word 'bring' to me connotes his (Savage's) house. If he was going somewhere else he would be 'taking' him. IMO.

I don't think having a second breakfast is that unusual if your first one was awhile ago, you're going somewhere and not sure what you could get there at a reasonable price, ie a hospital or elsewhere.

I sometimes have a second breakfast of tea and toast and maybe a piece of fruit if I'm going out and don't feel like having to take time to eat out.

I think they are taking issue with that fact that he ate breakfast shortly after 9am, then was making tea and toast after his wife left at 10.37. I don’t think it’s overly unusual, but you never know, anything could turn out to be a significant piece of information.

What if William did wander from his home and someone involved in the search for him, found him and saw it as an opportunity?

Why is PS being questioned so much and other neighbours have been cleared? His timeline must be suspicious...

Yes why would the BIL come and stay if PS was away? Or if he had brought his brother home to Kendall, would he have room for the BIL as well?

As Wex said^^^^^, clear as mud.

360 kms away 4 hour drive. each way.
that's a big days driving.
was he packing ready to go the next day maybe?
older folk tend to like to get an early start and be home before dark.
would account for somebodys whereabout for a day definately driving to casino and back.
He said he was packing as would be away looking after Brother

I would say, to look after HS while PS was away. It sounds like a reasonable arrangement.

I thought I read somewhere that it was a stayover on his way home from somewhere. Can't find it quickly and have to go do some chores, but can try later or tomorrow. Might have even been in the first tranche

The brother in law was there because his son was playing football/rugby in the area ... from memory.

drsleuth, if you were in court today, would love to know your overall impression of PS.

Det Sgt Beacroft confirmed Mr Savage's statement that he went for a walk, came home, went inside, attempted to make a phone call to his brother at Casino Hospital at 9.02am, had breakfast outside on his patio and then made another phone call to his brother at Casino Hospital at 9.59am, where he spoke to him for eight minutes.

"The second call being a bit longer because he likely got on to his brother?" Mr McGorey said.

"That's correct," Det Sgt Beacroft said in response.

During Craddock's questioning it was revealed Mr Savage was a "creature of habit" who went on daily walks and had dinner with his wife at 6pm each night.

Neighbour asked what he saw on day William Tyrrell vanished

Why would PS go to the Millers (neighbours) house if they were away?
Did they leave a spare key out? Did he know where it was? Was the Millers house searched even if they weren’t home?
What I am wondering (is hypothetical) if PS took William what did he do with him at that point?
Drive him somewhere?
Surely others would have noticed his car leaving if it was just after William disappeared. Or is there just a 2 hour gap he can’t account for.
Presumably William wasn’t in his house as his wife would have noticed once she returned.
Could he have packed William into the suitcase/bag he was packing?
Arrggghh. Too many questions.

My wording would be to take his brother to his place (brother’s) or bring his brother home (PS’s).

It’s all about wording IMO.
