I must say I have to distance myself from the elderly man we see in the media and focus on William. Elderly men hit me right in the heart when I see them vulnerable. Always has since I was very young. It’s hard. Just have to think of William and his fate to get perspective

I understand TBL. We owe a great deal to our elders, and certainly respect & consideration rank highly.

PS has provided statements etc in relation to his 'experiences' the day of William's disappearance, and I dare say his memory was 'fresher' at that time.

At the same time I would've thought he'd have gone over all his statements & been attuned / corrected if memory served him better.
Personally, I'm confused by his attitude. I might be reading it all wrong, but IMO there's a sense of 'arrogance, I don't care & up your's' . ( that's just my thoughts, I don't mean to offend anyone)

Was there closed court for something regarding Donohoe today?
I guess I must have missed that. What led up to it?
yes i heard this in the podcast. he was on the stand, they showed his police interview. the lawyers argued and he was dismissed. the lawyers argument was court ordered closed.

I think that might have been from last week, in Lidcombe. I don't think Donohoe testified today.
Which podcast did you listen to? The podcasts are generally made prior to the day that they are published.

Has Peter O'Brien represented him at All the cases we've heard of re BS over the last 5 years ?

I'm personally sure I've heard of him previously. High profile cases, but also I think an advocate for 'the underdog ' so to speak, so I on der if doing a pro bono

A man who told police he “definitely” saw white goods repairman Bill Spedding’s van driving up a bush track on the day William Tyrrell disappeared has told the Coronial Inquest that he wasn't sure that the van was in fact Mr Spedding’s.

In January 2015, Mr Spedding's neighbour Dean Pollard made a statement to police that the van he saw driving up an ill-suited bush track was “definitely Bill’s”.

seems like BS legal team is after Jubelin...

Fortunately, I don't think O'Brien can get to Jubes now. Now that Jubes has left the police dept. If anything, O'Brien will have to sue the police dept. If he can find grounds to do that.

Yes, I believe he has represented Spedding at every court case that we know about.

When I researched him a while back, litigation is something that he has done a bit .. with others as well.

Some good $$$ can come out of litigation, and the attorney usually takes 1/3 of it, when successful.

In Spedding's case, O'Brien may even take more than 1/3 - if successful in any lawsuits. He may let Spedding rack up an account, then pay for it via successful lawsuit(s).

I’m going to put it out there,

With no speculation and just a question.

This lady that lives in the caravan in the bush.

PS I think said in a MSM or twitter? That his wife had stopped coming on walks with him didn’t he? But then said another time she didn’t do long ones and just did short ones meeting him at the end? I mean no disrespect to his wife who has passed on and hate to even suggest this but is there any one else considered this woman in the bush that PS may have met for not just a chat? And it might be a reason he’s unable to commit to his correct walk that morning and indiscrepencies and times etc in fear of the back lash if he was found to be well you know...... it’s just something popped in my head. Probably unlikely but he seemed to stop and visit this lady often by sound of it and If he didn’t have anything to do with William im just looking at what else he could be hiding

Lol - we love a good drama / soapy eh !

You're not alone Possum, I also raised my eyebrows.

Could've been quite intriguing for a male to come across a female living in the midst of a forest, hidden away from everyone, living like a Gypsey..Oh, how the mind wanders !

Would account for a couple of 'lost' hours perhaps

More from same article:

“I said it was the same colour as Bill’s van,” Mr Pollard told the court.

“I wasn’t one hundred per cent sure it was Bill’s van. I said it looked like Bill’s van. I was 100 per cent sure it looked like his van,” he insisted, contrary to his police statement.

The inquest heard that police have since eliminated that the van that drove up the bush track was Mr Spedding’s.

If the police have eliminated it, I wonder why Dean Pollard was called to the inquest. Seems like a time waster, if that is the case.

I wonder if the article meant to say that the Coroner eliminated it from her consideration, because she did say something like that.

Exactly.

Even could be just a lonely elderly man wanting some conversation. Who knows. But was a thought. Love to know how long the lady was living out there

Like the grandfather who dropped his grandchild out the 6th floor of a cruise ship. A freakin’ stupid mistake.

Just say IF an older neighbour is kinda excited about a little kiddy there and thinks ‘Oh I’ll give him that toy car I have’. He takes him inside and drops him on his head and then panics.
No offence to anyone here but some old people can do really silly things.

The stupid actions can equate to devastating consequences from young and old.

With all due respect TGY, I reckon best to leave others out of this. IMO, its not for any of us to judge that horrendous situation... the cruise ship management will do their dudiligence & handle it surely..

Podcast and here

The team from Insight worked with the former head of the investigation, Gary Jubelin, to lobby NSW politicians to get the state’s first $1 million reward for a missing person.......................................

“And there was strategic thinking in that. The concept was that if somebody — like a partner of somebody who might have been responsible for William going missing — if they needed to get away from that situation, the initial amount that was mentioned would not be enough.”

William Tyrrell’s family urged to hire PR firm to lobby for reward cash

Thanks for posting that SOSo, it's just all in my mind & you prove it!

Given the reward was after Heather's demise ( I think ??) those statements may suggest that Jube's interest in PS comments could have been re someone else ? Just my memory going wild perhaps ...

Doesn't sit for me either. I don't think that the inquest questions reflect that kind of thinking at all.

Where did you go on your search?
So, you likely were inside for more than 15 mins?
Is your car luggage compartment covered so that no-one can see in there?
Was that big hole with tin covering it there at the time?
Was Heather with you, was Heather with you, was Heather with you? (in its many variations)
Huh ????

  • #439
Did the cops ever get a signed statement from Mrs S?

That's something I've wondered about too TGY, maybe that'll be a surprise inclusion in the inquest !

IMO, the perps have been aided in their success by a casual / sloppy initial investigation.
Then Det Jube came in .. only to also fall foul of the ...
