The biggest thing I got out of yesterday is that PS really likes his tea and toast.

I’m going to put it out there,

With no speculation and just a question.

This lady that lives in the caravan in the bush.

PS I think said in a MSM or twitter? That his wife had stopped coming on walks with him didn’t he? But then said another time she didn’t do long ones and just did short ones meeting him at the end? I mean no disrespect to his wife who has passed on and hate to even suggest this but is there any one else considered this woman in the bush that PS may have met for not just a chat? And it might be a reason he’s unable to commit to his correct walk that morning and indiscrepencies and times etc in fear of the back lash if he was found to be well you know...... it’s just something popped in my head. Probably unlikely but he seemed to stop and visit this lady often by sound of it and If he didn’t have anything to do with William im just looking at what else he could be hiding

I had the exact same thought...

I suspect there’s a good chance his wife wasn’t there that morning. She would be his only alibi.. IMO
yes i think she wasnt either,i think she went earlier to run errands as she was having visitors..did she go to bingo ?? also i think he left on his walk much later as in after 9 when she left possibly imo..

Having passed not that long later, Heather may even have been attending appointments, been in hospital - something that police may have definite proof of and that Mr Craddock has not yet sprung on Savage at the inquest, but has been giving him the opportunity to say.

Could be what all the dithering is about. Savage may know that they know, due to his convos with Jubes, so he is acting forgetful and elusive.

Really just trying to think of reasons why he is being treated like a primary POI.

That's exactly the impression that I have. I don't think he took William, but I suspect he saw what happened.
I struggle to see this perspective, if he witnessed Williams abduction why on earth would he withhold that information?
what could an elderly man sitting on his verandah eating tea and toast possibly get out of keeping this information to himself?

a little boys life is in danger...…...right before his eyes.....and he decides to keep it to himself.
but wants to help enough to cancel his planned trip away that day and participated in a walk search.
even though he knows stuff..
just doesn't sit for me.

Maybe at 1010 after call to hospital. Detective Beaucroft estimates William went missing between 10 and 1015
I think maybe imo its because he was tea and toast, made the ph call..saw william and went over.. so my time would be 10.15

Doesn't sit for me either. I don't think that the inquest questions reflect that kind of thinking at all.

Where did you go on your search?
So, you likely were inside for more than 15 mins?
Is your car luggage compartment covered so that no-one can see in there?
Was that big hole with tin covering it there at the time?
Was Heather with you, was Heather with you, was Heather with you? (in its many variations)

yes I am disturbed by his lawyer holding up proceedings for a day.
funnily enough right as the heat is on his client.
things proceed again and suddenly he is a bumbling old man with alzheimers.
every answer contradicts his previous police statements.
I do not believe this is accidental.

just my opinion obviously but I am feeling deeply angry about his and his lawyers performance in in the inquest.

Did the cops ever get a signed statement from Mrs S?

I think that it was mentioned in one of the podcasts that she never gave a signed statement, but I am not absolutely positive about that.

Does anyone else remember that?

If they didn’t get around to it then I’m calling the cops slack now.
Statements should’ve been taken and searches in the houses should’ve been coordinated within 48 hours hours.

Unfortunately, I think a bunch of mistakes were made in the early days.

Some of the biggest ones being that FGM's place was not cordoned off right away, so that didn't help the sniffer dogs when they were brought in. And the fact that people were coming and going on the street without vehicles being stopped and checked (as per Savage's brother in law's testimony).

Does anyone know the timeline between William’s disappearance and Mrs S passing?
I’ll go search in the meantime because if it was longer than say 4 weeks then the cops should be tarred and feathered.

Could her friends help with information, was she at bingo, did she ever speak about what she’d seen & was she ever suspicious of PS’s activities. Anything relevant!

Imo that shouldn’t be classed as hearsay.

I think someone posted it was 6 months after

I understand that mistake as we all thought William had run off, who would’ve thought!

BUT those houses should’ve been searched initially for a lost child, firstly around then gone through thoroughly.

I love your posts SA & there has been some fantastic sleuthing by some great minds here.

I think that FM might have thought otherwise.
It is a shame that police at the time didn't take the extra precaution of listening to her gut instinct and securing the scene.

(Thanks tgy ... I agree, there are lots of fabulous posters here all doing their best to work out what has happened to William.)
