Just throwing this out here. What if the postie had someone fill in for her/him that morning.
Would they be in trouble with Aus Post for doing that?
I still think maybe PS saw something, rather than him being guilty of something.
Maybe he was reluctant to be dragged into it, hence Jubelins phone calls.

PS was all over the shop at the Inquest. Maybe he has dementia?
I doubt Chapman's witness testimony about an erratic driven vehicle with a small child in the back too. If the vehicle was driven so erratically with a small child in it unrestrained? that child would have lost its balance in the back. But whatever i guess.

I wonder if Mr Chapman may have confused a 1980s Pajero with an old series 60 Landcruiser? If that Pajero ute is what postie drove at the time.

Very easy mistake SA but unless the postie was some kind of crazy cowboy I doubt a postie would drive like what Chapman described.
Why 2 cars driving like that? Maybe someone who witnessed the abduction was in hot pursuit. dunno.

No no .. I was thinking of a vehicle sounding like postie's vehicle (a Pajero, if it was one) but looking like the vehicle Mr Chapman saw (a Landcruiser, but possibly a similar looking 60 series Pajero?)

Not suggesting Mr Chapman saw postie, or a vehicle just like postie's vehicle.

Mail delivery in NSW is usually a postie on a small motorbike. AusPost have their own vans for AusPost parcel delivery.
I guess if any of you are local or near Kendall why don't you call the Kendall PO and ask how mail is delivered there and then you will know for sure. Just a suggestion.

Usually contractors have their own vehicles, be it a fleet or a single owner.
Bikes are AusPost.

I always thought other lawyers can't be in there for closed court. Just his lawyer. But now I am not sure about that, having just read the closed court procedures and it does say 'legal personnel may remain'. Maybe it is just all of the public and other witnesses that have to leave.

I personally think Jubes recorded those calls because something(s) didn't add up in Savage's statements.


Inform the Court gallery that the Court is now closed and only Legal Personnel, Police Officers and the support person for the witness can remain in the Court room. You may wish to formally say something similar to “all persons not connected to this matter will need to leave the court and the hearing of this court. This is now a closed court. “

Maybe the only connection between the postie and the vehicles that RC saw is that they sounded alike. I think that there is no doubt that RC would have recognised the car if it was his local postie. Also, the car TGY found out the front of the post office doesn’t have back seats, only a ute tray with canopy.

If RC saw a Landcruiser and the postie’s car is a Pajero, I can see why he thought he heard the postie initially. They may both be diesel and I would guess they would sound similar. JMO

ETA: also relevant for the Crabbes’ claim that they heard a car the sounded like the postman. Could very well have been the vehicle that RC saw, IMO.

Yes I think 1 & 1/2 hrs from memory............

The only people allowed in court is closed sessions were the coroner, Mr Craddock , the witnesses legal team & court staff.

Swift ( for bio family ) & O'brien( for BS ) were not allowed in court.

I would be interested to know the times the postie submitted. Not because I think they are a suspect but because it seems to me that the postal run occurred in Kendall around the same time as WT went missing and that RC witnessed other vehicles driving erratically in nearby Laurel St. There's a chance that they saw something.

It is a small town however would still take some time to do the run each day and likely starting in the morning early.

Which is why I was hoping there was more detail to the beige/ fawn description. The Landcruiser colour is a flat beige, the prado and pajero colour more more metallic IMO.

Mail delivery in a lot of small nsw towns I've lived in has been privately contracted out. They use their own vehicles and slap on a magnetic Australia post logo when on their delivery run. I was of the understanding that this was the situation at Kendall at the time WT went missing. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be interesting if the postie does indeed drive a Pajero and a Pajero was the distinctive sound the Crabbes recognized. PS said his car was a Pajero.

I swear I heard RC describe the colour as a ‘fawn or lighter than fawn’.
