Now in hindsight it seems all so cockeyed doesn’t it JLZ but at the time it looked just like a lost child. It had us Websleuthers all fooled.
I guess. I felt suspicious reading it the other day. The sort of thing someone would do who wanted to keep an eye on things and stay in control. The useful searching was getting down in gullies, shining torches along drains. The horse would be an excuse not to get too involved.

To the best of my knowledge there has only been the one photo of the FGM sitting on the balcony reading the newspaper whilst William and his sister were drawing pictures...

I don’t understand what you’re saying here.
IIRC the first few days we all hoping William would be found, we zoomed in on nearby drains, tracks, campers in nearby garages, everything until it dawned the possibility he was taken.

So that one photo makes her pretty engrossed in the newspaper.

You were insinuating that she wasn’t aware of anything going on around her.

Someone posted a week or so ago about community searchers arriving on horseback. I hope that wasn't the first day. What hope would the dogs have had trying to track the delicate scent of a tiny clean child after horses had been over it?

No it wasn't the first day. I remember the call being put out over the radio. They also put out a call to SLSC's. It was a couple of days into the search.

William Tyrell: Three-year-old boy wearing Spider-Man costume missing at Kendall, on New South Wales mid-north coast, search continues
Updated 14 Sep 2014, 8:03amSun 14 Sep 2014, 8:03am - ABC

PolAir, mounted police, officers on trail bikes and volunteers from community groups like the local surf lifesaving club and Rural Fire Service are all involved.

Community offers support

Local pony club riders joined mounted police when they heard that the three-year-old was missing.

The woman, who cannot be identified, said she heard "like a scream" while searching for William near long grass.

"When a child hurts themselves unexpectedly, there's a scream. And it felt like a scream. And it was quick, and it was high-pitched and it was sharp," she said.

"I got into the bush and I thought ... maybe I imagined it, maybe it was a bird."

Tyrrell's foster father searched everywhere

Why couldn't the FM remember exactly how long William had been missing for when the 000 operator asked her? She didn't reply.
I thought she had replied about 15 or 20 minutes and the operator said something like "so from about 10.30 he's been missing?"
I can tell you one thing, once my son stopped breathing in my arms, the scariest day of my life. In the moment when talking to paramedics I could not remember how long he had stopped breathing for and he was in my arms. Panic and trauma affects everyone differently. In reality my son had only stopped breathing for about 3 seconds but it felt like a lifetime.
I might be wrong, but I think your line of questioning is against TOS. Questioning the FFC is not accepted.

It was not the first time the family had visited Kendall, but their visits had become more frequent in recent months after William’s grandfather died earlier in the year.

Locals recalled seeing William and his family at a neighbourhood Christmas event the previous December.

From the foster parents' first (publicly released) 'police interview':

FM: And my Dad passed away in February that year so that was really the first time we’d been back since Dad passed away, and we were going to go visit Dad’s grave, they were drawing some pictures to put on his grave, they were sending messages to Opa and things like that. I just thought, I want to just take some pictures of that.

IN THEIR WORDS: William Tyrrell's parents talk of the day their boy went missing and the 'living nightmare' they endure

Hopefully once the inquest resumes on march the 9th, a lot of unanswered questions , can be answered.

The fm could've said they were in the house and WT let himself out without anyone knowing, gone to find daddy, but she didn't, she's being truthful because she wants William found, but the sanctimonious folks can't see the benefit in being honest, one must hide their mistakes, we all make them but only a fool would admit it and risk humiliation.

There's some kind of pleasure derived from persecuting the family, Lisa Watmore made 14 threatening calls within 8 hours from different pay phones, imagine the thrill she got as she scrambled from phone to phone, hyped up with the excitement of torturing a father who's lost his son! She's no better than a terrorist, an harasser, maybe, she's acquainted with PS?! o_O And why do the perp a favour and blame the victims, he'd say it was their fault WT was outside, whatever happened it was WT's and his family's fault! :(

Well said madoodi. Thank you.

Sorry for barging in on the flow. I was looking back in Thread #1 for something else when I stumbled on this:

"In answer to a commenter's question about William possibly having bare feet with his spiderman outfit ... the SES have stated that he had sandals on.

William did not have sandals or any footware on in the pic that was taken that morning. Anyone know if this has been addressed in the timeframe?
I don't remember it ever being mentioned at what point the shoes were put on. The operator in the emergency call does ask about shoes but I don't believe there is an answer.

It was drained and had tin on top, I believe.
Later it was drained. At the time William went missing I believe it was an existing pool.

Yes, everyone thinks that if he was stolen, he would be kicking and screaming.

I expect he either knew his abductor or went off happily with a stranger who promised some adventure.
If it was little WT in the back seat of the racing car (I believe, the witness said the truth), then it is known, that the little boy wasn't crying. Someone convinced him, having a nice adventure together. MOO

It's possible no car was heard at that time because at that time no car was on Benaroon. He was possibly taken on foot to the bush area to a waiting car. Quite gutsy/stupid if you ask me, if that's what's happened because the chances of getting caught are so high.

IMO
If it was someone known to the family (FGM/FFC), he could have said, he wanted to show little WT some interesting object and only forgot to ask for permission at the grandma-home. MOO

peekinandy,
Who saw William headed towards the driveway? As far as I know, FFC and FGM saw him headed the other way: jumping off the patio and going to the right (as you look out from the house). To head towards the driveway he would have turned left from the patio.

Perhaps I am wrong but I thought you could reach the driveway either way? I don't have msm for who saw him go that way - so I'll retract that someone saw him heading to the drive

It was stated in Caroline Overington's book that GO rang fgm house on the 12th of sep , and also the day before.
could this have some type of connection to FA? did they drive past the house also that morning ? Just something i have been thinking.

Yep me too. Scary thought. I would imagine a drive-by isn't that out of the ordinary if there's a job on the horizon? IMO. I think GO is only part way through his testimony though - is that right @drsleuth ? I also wonder if FGM mentioned to callers she had family coming?

There are only 2 dirt tracks that lead you out of Benaroon Drive both of which are incredibly steep so I’m not sure if taking a child by foot would have been the best and the quickest choice
