Can someone explain to me, how the minutes and seconds on the time stamp are different on Williams last photo??

I still don't understand that aspect.

If it was a timezone issue , wouldn't it just have been 7:39:54 am to 9:39:54am??
No, because it is not an automatic time correction, like your cell phone does when you switch time zones.

It was a digital camera, and it was set manually. So you have to change the time using the hours and minutes dials. So it could easily end up 70 seconds off.

Example---you look at the time on your phone, and then begin setting the new time on the camera. If it takes a minute or so to reset the time, then it would be a minute or more off.

So are you saying it had to be manually changed ???

yes, I have walked to the cemetery from William's street & then from the cemetery to Ellendale... not very steep
peekinandy,
When you were walking along the tracks near the cemetery, did you get any sense of who normally uses them and why? Does it look like the tracks end at the cemetery, or might they join onto others to make a longer track to somewhere else?
And what were your thoughts about Benaroon/Ellendale or Kendall more generally? Did being there in person give you any new ideas about William's disappearance?
Thanks!

I now have my very own copy of Caroline Overington's book. This is from the final chapter:

"The investigation into [William's] disappearance has run for years with no result, but the essential elements needed to find him are surely there.

This [i.e. his disappearance] is the work of human beings. We, too, are human beings, but better than those who did this, because we have right on our side. It cannot be beyond our combined will to figure out what happened to William Tyrrell.

We are smarter, stronger, more determined than this act of cruelty.

It is entirely possible, as with so many cases detailed here, that detectives have already spoken to the culprit. All we need do now is remove all that is false, including all about which we have been mistaken, and we will have the answer."

Yes, apparently it is a digital camera not a mobile phone.

Edited to add: Just checked my digital camera and the time was 5 mins out.

Can anyone explain to me, within TOS of course, what is the actual line of thinking regarding the camera being 2 hours out?

Only I've heard of it quoted as "proof of life". I guess it also gives a baseline timeframe that you could chronicle the events of that morning.

Get Smart,
I agree it's interesting, and I find it hopeful too. Earlier on the same page there's this:

"The truth, in the end, will come out.
The truth will come out for William, too.
How do we know? Because truth wants to be seen. It wants to be discovered. The late American writer Rayya Elias, partner of Elizabeth Gilbert, put it this way: 'Truth has legs; it always stands. When everything else has blown up or dissolved away, the thing left standing will always be the truth."

I don't think she knows anymore than the rest of us do about this case, IMO. If she does she better take that info. to the investigation.
And she is trying to sell her book after all, so i imagine has to add something of interest in order to do so, otherwise why would anyone buy it? And i'm really not sure why she would write a book if the case isn't even solved yet? But that's just me and my own opinion on it.
Is she donating the proceeds of her book toward any organizations helping in missing children cases does anyone know?

It was , suggested that a possible explanation about with the camera being two hours out, was because the FF regularly go to Bali and Bali is two hours Behind Oz.
I think it needs to be clarified , without a double that , that is the case.
As they a using the photo as " proof of life" .

Caroline is an award winning , investigating journalist.
She wrote the book , to spark people's memories , to gain more exposure for Williams case.
Caroline gets access to police statements , and other information that the public aren't savvy to.
Her book was unbiased , factual and had a purpose.

Yes a purpose to gain financially. Personally it’s not her story to tell, it’s Williams bio and foster parents

She is journalist, writer.
It's her job!
Would you do your job for free?

I personally know Caroline , speaks and visits Williams biological family.

I don't understand the hostility .
