I've bought some questionable things over the years in Bali but I have never bought a camera....a portable speaker yes, but that stopped working after a few days. Does anyone think that's an odd purchase? I mean, it's Bali....not Singas.
Probably bought at the duty free shop.

I don't understand how daylight savings would make the time of the photo 8.37?

When William went missing on the 12/9/2014 NSW was 2 hours ahead of Bali. When daylight savings started in October 2014 NSW was 3 hours ahead of Bali.

The camera recorded the 5th photo (the roar photo) at 7.39am.

There are 2 possible scenarios here. The camera was set to Bali time or the camera was on Australian time.

If it was 7.39am Bali time then the photo was created at 9.39am NSW time.

If it was in fact 7.39 NSW time then proof of life was at 7.39, creating a different timeline.

Where does 8.39 come into play?

If the 9.37 corrected time was done by computer or human because they were on NSW daylight saving time then the photo was taken 3 hours earlier at 6.37/6.39.
Yes! Thought this at the time would be much further out plus my camera is set to some random overseas time.

I don't know if I am allowed to be this open about myself. let me know and I can remove this post .I am struggling today with my interest in WT case. Mostly due to the fact of the intense media coverage. I would very much like to know all the details but I found myself cringing at myself while I look at photos of blurred out faces of people. More than likely will never met, never understand what this type of situation would be causing on a day to day life of all involved. I personally don't want or need to see photos of this type. As a new member i am struggling with balancing my good intention with speculation.

reminder to take breaks can be overwhelming when it’s moving quickly. Need to keep balanced somehow even if you don’t agree take care x

edit to add.. we don’t know we are just sharing our. thoughts and as they say being “amateur sleuths”

I've bought a camera before going to Bali at Perth Airport (consumer protection mostly).....just can't imagine buying one in Bali. Even if you're returning to Australia you can buy it at the incoming duty free.

That adds some extra hours too...

Bali is somewhere you get cheap accommodation, cheap margaritas, cheap spider man costumes, cheap botox, cheap tattoos, cheap maxi dresses, fake Nike tshirts. Not electronics. IMO

Besides, anyone going on an O/S holiday usually buys the camera before they go, not during their visit.

Additionally I wouldn’t buy a camera duty free in Indonesia! I don’t they even have much of a duty free shop?

Why should the Senior Constable’s ex fiancé even be mentioned? I shake my head!

I almost expected that to be followed by: "Erin Molan could not be reached for comment."

I am a parent of children with ADHD so can relate to having very active children ..pretty normal for me. I am not a doctor or medical specialist of any kind and from my understanding of ADHD is on a spectrum of scale . Not to be confused with Autism spectrum disorder and nor am I insinuating WT has ADHD....just wanted to be clear .

Unless, maybe they forget to pack it, or leave it someone along the journey, or it gets stolen.

I have looked at a lot of articles about today's court summons and the magistrate's words. I keep going back to 'wtaf?' If 2 infamous characters came before me (if I was a judge, and, granted - I am not) then the last thing I would be doing is adding fuel to the fire. I am a bit perplexed at the words that this judge used today to describe this case. It feels like grandstanding (possibly IMO MOO JMO). I feel quite annoyed.

Magistrate Robyn Denes said she understood the interest in the case but questioned the true desire to mention the defendants’ connection to William. maybe the public wants to know what has happened to LT and how this might cast some light on the lifestyle of a little boy and that justice is served? (my own thoughts, possibly JMO MOO IMO)

Aside from that link, the matter was not dissimilar to matters heard in every court in NSW, she said, saying media weren’t in her court last week for a case involving “far more serious allegation” and a five-year-old. (good point. But, this poor child is not related to a missing child? so, how would media scrutiny help this 5 year old? the media would just report basically what happened. and then what? the public could say 'that's terrible' and shake their heads in sympathy. should every child's case be presented for further investigation and public support in what way? go-fundme? this is a great idea - but, I am just relying on my own thoughts, Perhaps the judge could have explained further why this is an important point? possibly, JMO MOO IMO).

“What’s the interest besides, dare I say it, the clickbait issue?” she said. (is this alluding to the fact that a large proportion of Australians, and our global counterparts, are interested in justice being served for WT. and also for LT, as she has had a horrific time and now has been removed from one life to another new life. There are 2 victims here - both related. one is missing. one has to start a new life. again. possibly, JMO MOO IMO).

Yeah right, not sure how long since you’ve been but the duty free there now is high quality , maybe cheaper too ? Not sure.

I don't know what the magistrate expected to achieve by making those comments.

I went regularly prior to Covid. Whilst the airport has a shiny new duty free I still found the products more expensive. Seven/eight years ago it wouldn't have been that great.

I'm just musing out loud mostly

The following applies to Local Courts:

Use of mobile phones or PDAs by journalists

Journalists are permitted to use mobile phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs) in court for electronic note taking, text messaging or emailing.

Thanks. When I said laptops I should have said tablets sitting on their laps.

Does anyone know what "deidentified basis". means?

The Wiki says:

De-identification is the process used to prevent someone's personal identity from being revealed. For example, data produced during human subject research might be de-identified to preserve the privacy of research participants. Biological data may be de-identified in order to comply with HIPAA regulations that define and stipulate patient privacy laws.

When applied to metadata or general data about identification, the process is also known as data anonymization. Common strategies include deleting or masking personal identifiers, such as personal name, and suppressing or generalizing quasi-identifiers, such as date of birth. The reverse process of using de-identified data to identify individuals is known as data re-identification.

Me either.
If police took an avo out, pressed charges and removed a child from care, that’s serious. She is a victim. If another child in a hearing last week had even more serious assault does this mean FD’s alleged abuse isn’t serious now and not worthy of looking at?

and does this mean bias can creep in? (possibly, JMO MOO IMO).

Hi everyone, there is so much coming through these threads, apologies if this has already been mentioned and responded to. The location where the FFC was alleged to “throw something from the window”, is that thought to be the corner of Batar Creek Road and Cobb and Co Road?

Further, the location where the creek is being drained - is that the same site? Just wondering if previous media had it wrong and Police are looking for remains at this site, not something thrown from a car window.
