Speaking about the renewed search, former Detective and criminologist Terry Goldsworthy said the water tanks and a nearby dam being search was a sign of police “just being very thorough”

“I expect they’ll be there for weeks and weeks to come. I’m not surprised by that because I think their media strategy has basically dictated they’re going to have to go through this to the end because they’ve said they’re looking for remains, they have outed someone as the only suspect et cetera so those are big calls so they’re going to have to back them up now.”

New police boss says no DNA evidence has been found in new William Tyrrell search

48 Benaroon Drive is a corner block, ending where a bush trail then begins. The road isn't wide but the proprieties are mostly set well back from it:

Google Maps
Benaroon Drive is quite wide , until you get to the end & turn Rt, than it is narrower IMO & from driving it myself .

I guess it depends in what you consider wide. It looks to be a pretty normal road width to me (3.5m) along the main part of it.

Using Goolgle satellite view it measures at around 3.37m. The shorter part leading to the bush track may be wider -- the resolution isn't really good enough for a reasonable measurement.

RE sites quote the block as being 4,976 m² when converted to acres it is 1.2295964 - so almost 1.25 acres - not that huge.

Still quite large with no fences. Coming from a city slicker! I’d be able to check my whole perimeter in 2 minutes.

Speaking of his activity with a negative tone.
Alittle boy raming his bike deliberately into the garden makes me visualise a little rowdy turd that I want to spank! (not literally.....)

That actually would cause a bit of stress with a house you were in the process of selling, contacts signed, but settlement looming, it's kind of yours still but it isn't and you're under a lot of stress hoping nothing goes wrong with the sale etc ..

This article says septic tanks are supposed to be pumped clean at least once every 5 years, but many others say every 2-5 years. Was this done previously, and if not, why not?

How Are Septic Tanks Emptied And How Often Should This Be Done?

By memory the property was put on sewerage. I’m not sure of the year.

Steps involved in decommissioning (of disused tank)

The tank is to be filled with solid, clean fill with the ground surface made good. If settling of the fill material occurs over time it may be necessary to make good with further fill.
• The sides, lid, baffle or partition and square junctions of the tank should be hosed down as the waste is being removed.
• The tank should be filled with fresh water and disinfected to a minimum level of 5mg/L of free residual chlorine with a half hour contact time. The chlorine should be allowed to dissipate
5. ThefollowingmustbeprovidedtoCouncilas evidence that decommissioning took place:
a. Receipt from the approved contractor for removal of the effluent and sludge; and
b. A statement/letter from a plumber stating that the works were conducted in accordance with these instructions.

I think of little AJ where SES searches seriously scoured his property extensively and still missed him but for the keen eye of Polair

What if?

The vacant bush block across the road has always concerned me, which now has a new house on it, was cleared extensively several years ago.

AND then big bulldozers come in a clear the property flat.
Were the trees and undergrowth burned?
Who would ever see the crushed remnants of a little 3 yr old from behind the controls of a big D-9.

The block had to be levelled for the foundations of the house so the dig might have been quite deep.

‘I’ve got the boy!’ Incredible moment police helicopter spots missing AJ

That's right TGY. Not only was he missed in the ground search but when Pol Air were directing SES to his location they walked passed him twice without seeing him.

Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Look at the Google maps view I linked to above. It's quite an unfenced expanse. No way I'd let a visiting 3 year old out of my sight while he was running around playing in that area.

yes
it would tick me right off.
Am suspicious it did her and likely her mum.

Just dont think things were as positive as stated...hence why I think there is some verbal leakage in some things that point to william not being as sweet and awesome that morning.

And we are talking about a 3 year old who hadn't been there for almost a year so it's essentially unfamiliar territory for him. IMO, the FM has a lot to answer for in not keeping him in view out there 100% of the time.

But he was only gone for minutes. Not.

I think so too, I think it could explain some of the comments she has made that don't add up. It doesn't necessarily mean she killed him, but she probably glossed over the rough edges by nature IYKWIM.

So, in the events of the morning timeline, has it been stated what time it was when FM put William in a tree, encouraging him to give it a go to climb, as it was a good climbing tree? how long were they doing this activity for? And was FD or FF also part of this tree climbing event? I’m going to speculate that FGM wasn’t upto walking to the tree or back to the house, but was she also there for the tree moment?

When someone is the last person to see a missing person, they need to be ruled out. We all know this, it’s Detective 101. When that person has omissions and discrepancies in the the timeline of events they’ve provided, it needs to be clarified, especially when an omission provides an opportunity to dispose of a body. You can’t just go “well she seems nice, so let’s just leave it”.

Deputy commissioner Karen Webb, who was named as the next commissioner on Wednesday, is confident there will be a result but says it will take time.

“It’s a long, laborious search and obviously the weather conditions up there at the moment are unfavourable but police will pursue that no matter what,” Webb told Sydney radio 2GB on Thursday.

“There’s no stone being
unturned. It’s been seven years now and that’s a long time but we’re not going to give up.”

Incoming NSW police commissioner vows to find William Tyrrell as search enters 11th day
Comforting to hear!

BBM - and apparently that was done, not just by 1 lead detective, but by Fehon who was in charge in the early days, and also by Hans Rupp who was in charge of the strike force prior to GJ, then GJ ruled them out. With 3 leaders ruling them out you'd have to admitt that there must have been another reason other than “well she seems nice, so let’s just leave it”. IMO
