1987?? I wonder if they checked into his past and found some case that should have been prosecuted that wasn't. Is there no statute of limitations in Australia for this type of crime?

No, and nor should there be. It can take many years for victims to come forward due to age at the time, fear, shame, etc.

Exactly. I heard on the radio yesterday that the average is 20 years for people to feel strong enough to report it. Particularly important given victims are sometimes children.

People need to feel enabled to report these things to save other children if nothing else.

Wow. I step away to watch a movie and all hell breaks loose.

It's unrelated to William in the sense that the sex offences were allegedly committed on 2 girls in 1987. The evidence may have been uncovered during this investigation but the charges do not relate directly to William.

Good point. We knew there had to be a reason for her doubts. Then makes you wonder if she knew about this why would she have not said anything?

Fingers crossed it was Bill.... Assuming he is a criminal, I really hope this goes quickly and not protracted. If she does actually know anything, WT needs her help.
