"William’s father had left the house on Benaroon Drive that morning, seeking an internet connection that would allow him to make a business presentation using Skype. His mother and grandmother had been sitting outside at the rear of the property, while the children played. About 10.30am, William’s mother went inside the house to make a cup of tea before realising she could no longer hear her son. Fearing he might have been abducted, she searched inside and around the house, calling out to William, she said later."
Hm. I'm not sure my first thought would be to worry my child had been abducted, so much as to worry that he got hurt or stuck in a hiding place or something... the only time abduction would be my go-to worry is if I was just heavily involved in a websleuths case or if I had some pre-existing worry about someone in the area wanting to do something to my child.
