Don't get me started on the number of times I have seen police arresting people when there is absolutely no chance of a conviction. I have seen prosecution (mainly police prosecution) proceed with charges when there is absolutely no chance of a conviction. I act for clients who spend $10,000 on legal fees to get to trial only to have prosecution pull the charges on the day of trial because they have finally looked at the brief of evidence and realised that they have no case. I have acted for clients who have successfully sued the State because their arrest was unlawful.

FYI ..... Here is the link on how to become a verified professional.

I'm not certain. But what I have posted is entirely plausible.

In your opinion he had nothing to do with it. Others may disagree and are entitled to do so.

I have not given my opinion that he had nothing to do with it. I don't know whether he had anything to do with it. All we have are speculative media stories, second and third hand hearsay, inferences on the way someone has responded to something and occasional statements from police that don't really give away any information.

I have just posted a very plausible explanation for what happened.

Ah ok. Damn that's quite annoying.

Let me just say though, I have every confidence in the LE involved in this particular case. They seem to be very thoughtful and down to earth, from what I see of them.

Yes and don't be afraid to give colloquial accounts of your experiences generally. It's an as valid a contribution as any. You're not posting as an authority, so all is good.

"Following Mr Spedding's police interview with police in January, he gave a DNA sample but was then released."

I wonder if his DNA has matched any old outstanding cases? Could DNA from old unsolved cases be being added to the database as technology improves? Imagine being caught by volunteering your DNA when you thought you past crimes could not catch up with you.

I'm madly reading all the posts! I thought there would be more details on BS arrest on the news - but the focus is on the big storms in Sydney/Hunter area. Hope anyone who lives there stayed safe!

My theory is that they were able to nail him on the assault of the little girls due to his DNA evidence??? This now gives them the opportunity to put more pressure on him re the pedo ring and flush out who has William. I also see reference to a plumber - I thought I'd read everything but I've obviously missed something! I do feel for MS .... and when is Colin going to speak?? Ohhh - it's just come on the news - just heard Margaret yelling at them!!

Let's hope they find little William alive...

I really need to go to bed or give in and get glasses. It took me a few times to reread and see the "in January" and I was a little worried they took the DNA and released him today. I despise getting older!

I have 20 pages to catch up on...

anything new of much interest other than the unrelated (to this case) BS charges?

Do you have more information than we do? Again, to you it may be plausible, to others it may not. Yes it is your opinion it is not fact. You may know not how it works around here. Unless it is fact it is your opinion only.
