Oh, my.

Could the foster father have driven the foster gma's car on his first trip out (I speculate he left twice, once for the paper, maybe he even took Wm with him, very much alive) and reparked it on the street?

Then the foster mother did a pull in, pull out and drove it later, while the foster father was in town for his virtual meeting.

Can't imagine why anyone would keep the first part a secret but it might account for the extra vehicles and sounds that morning.

And if LE was checking CCTV for the foster father's car earlier than the confirmed trip, his car wouldn't be there.

Jmo
Given the position it wouldn't account for the extra sounds.

FFC was the only person to see the two cars parked together. Do you think her reporting the cars was some kind of blind--to say it wasn't FGM's because she would have recognized it, and besides it wasn't a hatchback, and besides there are two cars to be explained not one--or do you think she honestly didn't realize that MFC had taken the car before 7:30, left it in the street around the corner and a considerable distance from the driveways, and then put it back in the carport at around about 9 before heading out again in their own car?

IMO - Great post! I, too, have been interested in this case since the beginning & I’ve been through every scenario & gone back & forth on who could have taken WT & although at one point I did entertain the idea that FM might have done something to William, I just find it very difficult to believe that one person could fool so many police & for so long, common sense tells me that really shouldn’t be possible. I’m interested in what evidence they have that points in her direction & admit that I’ll be absolutely gobsmacked if it turns out the FM is guilty of anything to do with his disappearance. MOO

Yes. Many of us have tried to fit the theories into the FM's alleged guilt. Everyone is struggling to do so. Even those who seem convinced of her alleged guilt. Which is why there are so many theories and jostling around of the timeline.

There we go with the "battlers vs wealthy" mentality again.

The DM must have read my recent post ( :) ) about how this case has always been "us against them" ... battlers vs wealthy, battlers vs FACS, birth parents vs foster parents, people who have had their children removed vs people who take those children in.

imo
It’s one of the worst articles l have seen, even for Candice. There’s a lot of opinion stated as fact. There is nothing in what we learned from the inquest that says the bio parents were treated like “second class citizens”. Certainly sounds she got more than just a few quotes from the “child advocate”

New article in the DM.

Child protection advocate, Allannah Smith said on Friday, two days after police leaked news of the delivery of the brief of evidence to the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions: 'Can you imagine what it would be like if the boot was on the other foot?'
That fall where Wm couldn't get up -- that can't be a small thing.

Could have been a serious concussion.

I'm no doctor -- but I am a mother -- even a mild fall in close proximity to a serious concussion would be exponentially dangerous, no? Fatal even?

I can see him chasing around the side of the house, either in search of the foster father or to escape the foster mother, taking the corner tight and entering the veranda before it gains elevation.

It was important to the foster mother to broadcast how much Wm didn't like heights. Was that a presplain and misdirection? Brain leak? Because Wm had been up high? She wanted to cancel that painful memory?

IMO he could have fallen or even jumped, landing at a bad angle, crushing neck vertebrae, immediately fatal but also an entirely closed head wound. No blood IMO.

There might not be much chance of surviving an injury like that or even being resuscitated. And to what? A quadriplegic on a ventilator? The foster mother, if she is in fact a POI for concealing a body, may have been doing some fast math. Wm was gone. Disabled? Not an option for her. How was she going to make this all go away? She was going to look like a very bad mom. The black eye, the fall and now this. IMO she had to know she'd be at risk for losing the foster daughter as well as gaining a lifetime ban on future fosters. Goodbye, Children. Goodbye, Marriage.

IMO poor Wm was bundled up in a matter of minutes, the foster mother may have paused long enough to make tea, serve tea, and exit the patio a second time, this time leaving with Wm in the foster gma's vehicle, first depositing Wm somewhere and then, dropping his shoes in a sewer wash. IMO that's exactly what she was doing, pulled over by the side of the road, leaning far out the window.

The pair were ordered to participate in a domestic violence course and to not associate with each other, but when William was eleven months old, welfare workers spotted them together at a Ryde video store.

Misleading.

William wasn't taken away because the pair were seen together in a video store when they should have been apart. By that time, they had abducted William, and this is how he was found.

Ah yes you’re right. That whole article is a bit of a hot mess

That fall where Wm couldn't get up -- that can't be a small thing.
It could be a small thing, if the stool was small.

Edit: for example like this, six inches high.

(I imagine him sitting on the stool and his bottom falling backwards, so with his legs in the air he couldn't get up. There's been no report that he hit his head falling from the stool.)

JMO - My thoughts about the FF relating that incident was that he might have been inferring that if William was hiding (while missing) that he, again, may not be able to get up from that hidden place.

Yes--and his general sense of William's vulnerability.

Interesting choice of words "..... the boot was on the other foot?"

In my family, a few of us have little stools like this for the little one in our family.

Ikea

The little one plays with the stool, besides just sitting on it. Turns it over and sits between the legs, tilts it back and tries to balance on two of the stool's legs. Gets caught up in it and sometimes needs assistance to get out of the stools legs due to the antics.
It is only 30cm high. Very low.

(snipped, BBM) I'm not sure what a sewer wash is--but she couldn't lean out of the curb-side window from the driver's seat.

There was help extended from different quarters.

FM offered to pay for BD's accommodation, so he could be at the inquest.
The bio family had a Legal Aid lawyer at the inquest.
If the BP had asked for private admission (via a side door) to the inquest, I feel sure that would have been accommodated.

In that article it says the inquest is resuming next month!

The aim of this preliminary week of the inquest, which will resume in August, was to provide background to William's birth and foster families, his disappearance and the massive search

Ahhh that could explain the leak, wanted it to get out to the public before the inquest resumes.

No . . . that part must be reproduced from an earlier article. See also the context:

Gerard Craddock, SC, gave off the air of a Sunday school teacher, pleasantly questioning the foster parents about how cups of tea were poured, how thick the lantana scrub was, and how steep were the fire trail was.

The aim of this preliminary week of the inquest, which will resume in August, was to provide background to William's birth and foster families, his disappearance and the massive search.

Edit: And see this 2019 article from Candace, which includes the nearly identical passage. https://www.news.com.au/national/co...t/news-story/d0e0d3664d113387adef9083d094040f

God it's so hard to tell with DM articles, which are notoriously slapped together.

This is exactly what I think happened, except I don't think it was an accident of William falling etc. I think it was assault by the foster mother that led to William dying. Hitting too hard and he fell and hit his head, throwing him and he hit his head. Shaking him for being too loud and boisterous or non compliant. Something like this. I don't think she meant to kill him. JMO
