Here we are with Candice and PS again.

I've always really wanted to understand why Jubelin put so much time and energy into PS. There had to be a good reason because Jubelin is a very good detective. Maybe it is time to circle back around to him?

I would think it was the fact he lived in the street, he had issues with unwanted attention (the post woman and the fgm) he couldn’t prove where he was during the first initial search.

And I think his wife left the house by car right before the child went missing? Am I remembering correctly?

Yes that’s right

I have just listened to episode 2 of Witness:William Tyrrell podcast (Searching for Karlie).

As the title suggests, the journalists are doing everything they can to try to find and corner Karlie Tyrrell and when that does not succeed, they then hound her mother via at least 3 different journalists.

They are like vultures IMO and have no regard for what pain and suffering Karlie Tyrrell and Brett Collins and Grandmother Natalie Collins have gone through.

Absolutely disgusting gutter journalism and I won’t listen to any more of this rubbish.

Pretty sure Dan explained several times that they were trying to notify Karlie of the podcast and give her the opportunity to speak, if she wished. Because they couldn't locate her or reach her by telephone they left her a couple of letters at two different locations.

Even when they spoke with Natalie they asked her if it was okay to record her, she said yes (we heard her agree), and they stopped recording when she asked them to. And they did not repeat things she said about Karlie or the FM because those people did not have the opportunity to respond.

Also, I think there was one journalist/author, and two different producers ... not 3 journalists. IIRC

I noticed that even Natalie complained about the DM in the latest episode of the podcast.

imo
The only thing she said that wasn’t a lie IMO

The comments about bio mum were a bit rough. Does she not care that Williams sister will hear these comments about her mother? To say l wish my son had never met her? Well that would mean your 4 grandchildren wouldn’t exist. It was interesting that the bios got together at 17 (l feel like she was going to say 16?) and 22, yet it’s bio mum that was the problem? I can’t imagine how much worse the other stuff she said about bio mum and the fosters was that was cut

As Lola said, and as Jubes explained in his reasoning in his books.

PS ingratiated himself into the investigation.
There was no-one to corroborate the 1½ hours in which he said he searched uphill after William disappeared.
In his wife's statement, she explained what she did that morning and did not mention what PS did or where he was.
When PS was notified that William was missing, he says he went out front and spoke with FGM. FGM says he didn't.
He suddenly decided not to go and help his dying brother that day, as planned, and instead stayed in Kendall.
When Laura Beacroft interviewed PS, he got irritated, and deflected her questions by speaking instead about his deceased wife.
Paul had a line of sight to FGM's house and said he was sitting on his back patio.
PS wasn't interviewed until 2 weeks after William disappeared, and his house wasn't searched until 3 days after William disappeared.
Jubes had a hinky feeling that PS was lying about something, but he couldn't tell what he was lying about.

(And who knows what else, if anything, the police know about PS that we don't know.)

imo

Maybe Candace Sutton could do her own podcast??

For those who have read Bowraville - the book by Dan Box - they will know this is what Dan does. He interviews everyone (who will speak) who was involved in the case.

He gives the families the opportunities to express their thoughts. He looks at what the police did and didn't do. He tries to convey a complete picture of the tragedy, as far as he can.

I think this is exactly what he will try to do in his podcast about William's case.

imo

Yes l totally agree. She just said the same stuff (most of which has been proven to not be true) she has been saying for years.
I don’t understand why she got so angry after she said she lost herself and Nina asked what she meant by that. I think the first episode was much better as we got to hear from Ben and Michelle for the first time

Agree, I was also disappointed and didn't feel like there was anything new however I believe he is telling the story from the beginning and laying out the whole timeline of William's life from the start, covering all the family history.
William's story began well before he went missing from Kendall and not everyone would know the full story. I know most of us have followed it closely but I still see questions asked that make me realise the full story is not laid out.
I'm interested in the timing of this podcast and where it takes us. Box is an award winning journalist with experience in writing in true crime.

The next episode is going to be about the FP. It was mentioned at the end of this episode. I guess we will see if Dan could actually speak with them.

Yes, I agree. Dan is trying to go through this chronologically. Starting with the officials who William's care was under. Next explaining why he was under their care. Moving onto William's placement.

imo

Yes that’s true, it would have been all new to people who just started following the case. I think Dan is doing a great job so far. He doesn’t seem to share his opinion either way and is just letting everyone speak
