Did they dig up all (or even any) of the potential "new digs" at a large construction site when they were looking for a little lost boy?

If William's case ever goes to court, the defence will raise every reasonable type of possibility. All they have to do is put reasonable doubt into two jurors (or the judge, if it happened to be a judge only trial).

It is not only who may have committed a crime, it is also about excluding others who may have committed the crime - because the defence will bring them into the story, if it creates reasonable doubt.
I would think this applies particularly strongly when there is no direct evidence against an accused, but only circumstantial evidence.

This is a reason why .....

"Consideration should also be given to:
2. whether the prosecution is able to exclude beyond a reasonable doubt any reasonable hypothesis consistent with the accused being innocent
3. any other matter that could impact on the prospects of conviction."

imo

I don't think so in regards to the building site, because there is no evidence connecting the site to 48 Benaroon Dr. that we have heard of. dirt samples, a workman's vehicle or a worker from the site in the street. I don't know if they dug there however, if there were piles of soil, rocks etc, they may have been moved and searched through, or if it was noticed that the ground was disturbed somewhere on the site. Other workmen would have noticed if something was out of sorts and reported it. These are the things searchers and police look at all the time so no reason to think it wasn't searched. There were approxiamately 20 people in Benaroon and Ellendale when WT went missing and there have not been any reports of any strange people or vehicles hanging around other than from the sole POI at this stage. IMO

I'm not even sure what the big deal is anyway.
Publications/journalists publish many different points of view.
When I look at some of the stuff that Sky News publishes .....

People are perfectly capable (as are the police) in making up their own minds about any given situation. As is very evident. They don't need journalists to make their minds up for them.

For example, the DM has been publishing a whole different "narrative" about this case.

imo
Im not sure what the issue is either. Most companies/charities have a PR/media person who journalists will contact about a story. It’s not like the police are reading these stories and saying “well that’s what she said happened so no need to investigate”

Hey don’t forget their “source”! A self proclaimed child protection advocate that hasn’t actually protected any children.

Which is not really a surprise, seeing that none of them saw FM going or coming back from her drive either.

“Have you ever hit her with a wooden spoon?” Det Sgt Andrew Lonergan asked her.

“Never,” she responded.

A woman is then heard telling the child to “stand up” three times.

“Where’d you put the wooden spoon?” the court heard a woman on the recording say.

Regardless of the personal strain and stress the FFC was experiencing. I feel the idea that the FD had hid the wooden spoon to avoid any consequences suggests that she is very familiar what happens in these type of discplinary situations.

So it makes me wonder if this is a reoccurring method of discipline when things escalate.

I don't see how the FFC can rationalise that this is suitable idea because I am not convinced it was just a momentary lapse due to undue stress.

I think the FD was quite clever to hide the wooden spoon and gutsy because this might have ended up being a rather heated outcome once it was known who hid it.

"I'm satisfied that ... the accused suffers from major depressive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder," Magistrate Feather said.

I am not really satisfied that it was conveniently bundled into poor judgement on the FFC side. I feel it indicates that she used this method before and the FD was all too aware that the repercussion for her would be the wooden spoon.

A sad situation for the FD to be in. Which you would have hoped the Department would continually monitor their vulnerable clients, parents and children. I know not enough resources. I know police did nothing once they knew mandatory reporting etc. Its just the FD is the scapegoat and who knows maybe she (fd) was having depressive, post-traumatic stress herself.

All my own opinions.

I always enjoy Media Watch telling it how it really is.

Thanks for posting this segment.
Thank you South Aussie. I do find interesting how the media made earthshattering news, and how Media Watch pointed out it was around William's Birthday. The Way Media is handling it was well pionted out.
Also did anyone notice the Daily Mail Online within hours of the story was broken regarding Foster Mother, on the 30th of June, at the same time produced the article of William's BM joy in her birth of youngest child eight years after the disappearance of William
Relooking at the article , it was not a personal interview at all, but a reprint of a photo William's BM had put on social media in the celebrating the new arrival with other two children back in December 2022. Daily Mail printed the picture of the three children (Faces Blurred) with short article just stating facts, his Mum gave birth, eight years after William disappearence, which was a rather misleading article, as the second youngest child was born few months after William vanishing. I was hopeing to hear that their older Sister was part of the celebration that is why I read the article or she had visited them, no news just older brother met new arrival.
I am really starting to questions the morals of Media in their stories.
All of this would had been very distressing(IMO) to "Lindsay", William's sister, shattering news regarding FM, then dashing her hopes down then see in DailyMail photo of her younger siblings.
Who ever doing these leaks, should think about how many people it is affecting? So stressful to Lindsay, Bio and Foster Families.
I am concerned about up coming, resumed William's Inquest.
" Lindsay" in coping. People turning the Inquest into a Farce, Slanging match/Protest ,screaming Murderers, Killers,Justice for William, jail them etc at the FM and FF.
IMO . I fear now,
Mob Justice

BBM - Oh that “article” really took the cake! They just went her Facebook and pulled her profile photo of the baby and then made a whole story out of it! Anything for clicks!

I can vaguely remember something about this but not the details … nor can I remember where it was etc …

Thanks

Is there video as well as audio?
I saw it mentioned in a msm article that there was both audio and video surveillance. I believe it mentioned 8 cameras. I'll try to find it.

Has anyone compiled a list of foster mother inconsistencies?

Please do. I would imagine that 8 cameras in their home would have brought about suspicion on their part, as that many would definitely be hard to hide.

Great post Shadow :)

Yep I just roll my eyes :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: at all the DM BREAKING news etc ( they even called the FP's Adoptive parents last week ).....

I'm missing their daily breaking news , maybe the "source / 's" has / have run out of stories to tell or re hash again & again ...no articles today ??:)

I have the same fears when & if the inquest starts up again, I've been on the end of abuse at the inquest, "Bogans" living up to their self titled name???

I can absolutely say that the Bio dad was nothing but respectful at the inquest, he's clearly a broken man with a circus around him ....it seems IMO

As for Lindsay, my heart just breaks for her :(

I wish the Coroners court had cameras so everyone can watch what goes on ( in & out of court ;) )

;)

It is across the road from the showground.

Google Maps

In this previous post there is a Google Earth Pro screenshot of the site in 2011 - under preparation for building it seems, with maybe a show home there, as well - and a screenshot of it fully developed in 2023.

When I look up various addresses in the development, to see their sold and/or rent history, it took a few years after 2011 for the houses to be rented or sold. I can see transactions for some in 2016, 2017 ... but I haven't looked extensively.

She said she saw the cars at 2 different times, not that they were there for 2 hours IIRC
