7:29pm September 12, 2016

A $1 million reward, the largest in New South Wales history, has been announced for information that leads to the arrest of the person who abducted missing toddler William Tyrrell, or for the boy’s safe return or recovery.

William, then aged three, went missing from the backyard of his grandmother’s home in Kendall, on the state's mid-north coast, on September 12, 2014.

[...]

"You’re in a much better position if you come to us than if we come to you."

Det. Insp. Jubelin also said the investigation was "a long way" from going to a coronial inquest, and that police did not believe William's family were involved.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS WRITTEN BELOW. YOU MUST FOLLOW WHAT IS OUTLINED OR YOU WILL BE TIMED OUT OR BANNED!!!!

Thanks to DrSleuth for your help in writing up the information needed for the discussion.

Here is what we can and cannot discuss.

No identifying the biological family, the foster family or any associates ( ie siblings, etc ) or their addresses, places of employment or childcare, etc

They can be identified as bio mother etc & female foster carer etc

At the inquest, they are known as biological mother & father. Foster family are known as FFC ( female foster carer ) MFC ( male foster carer ) FFGM ( female foster grandmother ) etc
REMEMBER THE ABOVE PEOPLE
CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED USING THEIR INITIALS.

Prior to the coronial inquest, the bio families could be identified, but it was overturned by the coroner for the inquest.

I am very sorry it took me so long to open this thread back up. Please keep in mind we are short handed so if this thread starts to get out of control with alerts we will have to close it again.
Please do not hesitate to alert but make sure the alert is truly needed. We have experienced a lot of tit for tat alerts and that makes me foam at the mouth, grow hair on my hands and my teeth turn into fangs. In other words please be sure when you post you are posting within our terms of service.

Thank you,
Tricia

ADMIN NOTE:

This case has its very own set of very unique circumstances that we are having to work around and we know it is difficult for our members.

Of course we have William's case, but we also have the complicating factors of the foster situation, a living minor child, a coronial inquest that prevents publication of names, an AVO not known 100% to be immediately connected to William's case.

Taking all the above into consideration, we can not allow sleuthing of individuals who have not been publicly named.

Discussing what is in MSM is fine, but actual sleuthing of unnamed persons and posting about their background, their personal information or social media is not allowed.

Thanks to everyone here for trying to post accordingly through all this murkiness.

Also, as there is no approved source regarding a statement to the Director of Young Hope, that is considered rumor at Websleuths. Posts and responses related to it have been removed or modsnipped.

Please don't bring it back into this discussion unless there is an approved source to substantiate such information.

Hey everyone,

The Spedding award by the court is of interest, but discussion of the actual historical charges have nothing to do with William's case.

Please move past that discussion.

Thanks.

ETA: Changed "settlement" to "award by the court".

Dan spoke on this podcast & said the podcast is expected to go to the end of the year.

Sorry can't link atm

Here's the link:

I just wondered if the person PS described as living rough and having a few photographs is a different person from the man with the shrine and dead animals who lived, according to my recollection, in a house on the long, bushy, swampy block south of the south-side houses on Benaroon Drive. "Living rough" doesn't usually mean living in a house. So somebody camping, or living in a caravan, perhaps between Benaroon Drive and the cemetery?

Thanks Sleep , also new episodes will be every Monday I think.

I think it is the same person. PS describes him .... "The new podcast claimed this week that the man Mr Savage said was living rough in the bush" Link

And the podcast was speaking of the man with the shrine .... Former William Tyrrell suspect had ‘shrine’ to missing boy

And in his book, Jubes was speaking of the man with the shrine and dead animals hanging in the trees.

imo

Is there more description from any sources about the animals and the shrine, such as if they were cattle skulls which a lot of people use as decoration or if the shrine might have been a bit of a personal vigil the guy might have been keeping about WT, a child that went missing even a block away? Did they call animal protection in to make sure the man was not harming animals, or were they not that concerned? Did GJ ask about the animals and the "shrine"? Was he given an explanation? People do all sorts of rituals to get make sense of traumatic experiences. PS walked around with a picture of his wife (was it A4 size) on his chest when his wife passed away, reportedly, just as an example. MOO

Back in Aug 2020, when we were discussing this guy, @sleepinoz posted a screenshot from Six Maps showing how the property that he lived on extended all the way to the houses across the road from FGM's house.

And we had already noted that there was a cut-through from the creepy house (#35 Benaroon) onto his property.

The property's address is 144 Batar Creek Road.

It's a huge block of land, it backs on to all of the properties on that side of the road. And as far as I remember it hasn't been searched anywhere as thoroughly as some other properties.

All IMO

Yes, when I was looking back at those old posts, I noticed again that the block of land is (or was at the time, I don't know if it has since been subdivided) 95,567 sqm.

Savage also mentioned a woman who lived in a caravan in the bush? I forget the name.
Also, I remember during the search there was a find in the bush somewhere - was it a cubby or similar? I remember it being discussed but not sure where it was located. I think it was quite creepy and maybe involved a dead animal??

What a mess. More people coming out to complain about the non-investigations into their loved ones suspicious deaths - due to the focus on William by Unsolved Homicides, and their inefficiencies.

Homicide victims’ advocate Peter Rolfe says he has “no faith” in Detective Chief Inspector David Laidlaw ....
Karen Bryant has waited 21 years for police to find her daughter Harmony’s killer ... she emailed Mr Laidlaw last December, asking for an update ... “What did I get back? Nothing.”
“People go to their graves thinking something is being done by the Unsolved Homicide Team and they’re bloody well not.”

These included missing evidence and a backlog of hundreds of cases, including 19 files Mr Laidlaw told a 2023 public inquiry he left unread for a year as the search for William had taken up “a significant amount of my time”.
Other members of the strike force investigating William’s disappearance are also members of the Unsolved Homicide Team.

Families of dead or missing loved ones have spoken out about their agonising wait for answers as the huge salary of a top detective is revealed.

Sounds like he is last person you would want to be leading a criminal task force for your missing loved one. He’s really proven his lack of care and complete incompetence in Williams case IMO
