Pooley said Adrienne had argued with her boyfriend during a party in Tempe the night of her disappearance. The boyfriend drove her to his apartment in Scottsdale, where they continued to argue. He then drove Adrienne home, but the argument became so intense that she got out of his car and walked home.

Adrienne was last seen by her roommates at 3 a.m, Pooley said. She packed a large purse with a change of clothes and told them she was driving to the boyfriend’s home.

Police received a 911 call at 3:44 a.m. that Adrienne’s car had hit a median at Ash and Rio Salado Parkway, he said. A passerby saw the car driving erratically behind her and moved over, letting the car pass.

The car took off before the other driver could help, Pooley said. Police determined Adrienne made 11 calls to the boyfriend’s telephone between 4:10 and 4:17 a.m, but he didn’t answer. Finally, she sent him a text message at 4:43 a.m. saying, “I’m coming over.’’

Police said Adrienne called a cab company at 5:05 a.m., but the cabbie couldn’t find her at a Tempe convenience store and her phone was turned off at 5:07 a.m., according to phone records obtained by police.

No one has heard from Adrienne since, Pooley said. He said police do not consider the boyfriend a suspect.

BBM. Seems the boyfriend was somehow cleared since yesterday.

I thuink the BF was cleared pretty early on - I recall reading that on Tuesday. But we all know that sometimes folks are cleared early on, only to find out later... well, other things. I am not pointing fingers or accusing. I am trying to find anything I can on her and this whole story. (and reading things that are just too sad to include here as possibilities as to what can happen to missing girls - I am sure you can imagine.)

Overview, including location of body and the boyfriends apartment.

Zoomed in look of the neighborhood where Adrienne was seen, etc.

Purple = Adrienne's Apartment is Located on Ash Avenue.
Pink = Area where Adrienne's car hit the median.
Green = Area where naked woman's body was found.
Red = Area where Adrienne was last seen.
Yellow = Location that Adrienne was to meet a cab driver, but never arrived.
Blue = Area where boyfriend's apartment is located.

p.s. i couldn't find information on the location of where her car was found.. i def. could have overlooked it. lmk if ya'll see it anywhere.

So if she was going to walk to where she was suppose to meet the cab, then why didn't she just head back in the direction of her apartment? When she hit the median, why didn't she take the direct route back to her apartment?? Her route as it's been reported makes no sense to me.

“She was upset and wanted to go talk to her boyfriend about it," her roommate, Shaney Duggan, told MyFoxPhoenix. "Along the way there she hit a curb, her tires popped."

BBM

It seems she was driving.

I read that but wondered if it was accurate since that was a quote from her roommate. I wonder how she found out since Adrienne never returned home. Could it just be third handed information and/or could the police just be assuming that she was involved in the accident?

Just curious!

I'm sure there is more to the story, I have never heard of hitting a curb so hard it popped your tires (plural, as in more than one)?

Exactly! And why did she go back at all if she was headed to her bf's appartment? I would have called a cab to meet me in the direction I intended to go, in this case north, for example at the bridge, instead she walked back (south).

It seems to me she was in a very emotional and unsettled state that night.
First she and her bf had an intense fight. He drove her home.
Next she decides to drive over to his appartment.
After the accident she left the car and walked in the opposite direction from where his appartment is, seemingly having changed her mind again about seeing him.
But less than an hour later she sent him a text saysing she is coming over.

Back and forth is how it seems to me.

I'm not judging, just trying to understand how she felt that night. She seems to have been unsure about what she wants to do and where she wants to be.

Maybe after calling the cab to bring her to the bf's appartment she changed her mind again.

She was last seen at the location of the red dot. She called the cab to meet her at the location of the yellow dot. Between the two is Jaycee Park. Has it been searched?

good call. maybe she could have cut through the park to get to S. Hardy and take that down to AMPM? i wonder what that park is like late at night/early morning. are there any homeless people staying there that might have seen something?

I can understand the tires going flat depending on how hard and awkwardly she hit the curb. If the wheels bent, the tires will usually go bye bye right along with them. What I can't understand is her being hell bent on going to her boyfriend's even after the accident when it looks as if she turned around and tried to drive back home first. After an accident and screwing up my car, the last thing that would be on my mind is going back out. I would simply call it a night at that point, especially if I had been drinking.

Her odd and fervent dedication to seeing her boyfriend at that time of night/morning after all that transpired - and with his not answering the phone or replying to texts at any time - makes me think that she suspected him of cheating and wanted to catch him in the act. They were, after all, purportedly arguing about something. I'm not alleging that he was of course, only that in her state of mind she may have thought so. Frankly, if I were him, I would've been in bed by 4am, even when I was a hellion n college.

I wonder if they've ID'd the dead girl yet, and I wonder if she has a connection to him. Just sayin'

I think she must have been very angry to be able to go on after 1) an intense fight with the bf and 2) an accident. She was likely pumped up on adrenaline, jmo.

After the accident and before the text to the bf about an hour later - what did she do, where was she? Probably not with friends because we might have seen this reported by now. Was she just walking around, maybe attracting a stalker?

And, I realize only now that both front tires were flat from hitting the curb? Wouldn't that mean she hit the curb at a 90 degree angle? How would that come about? For the tires to be damaged it must have been with a lot of force/speed, or am I picturing this wrong?

I don't know if I'm seeing the colors of the map right. Am I seeing purple and pink or blue and pink? I'm missing one. Sorry for this question but I had to ask. My eyes aren't so great.

ETA. Nevermind! I see it on the top map!

bump! we need some more eyes on this case! she's 19, but it definitely doesn't sound like a runaway situation if you ask me!

Tomorrow will be a week, IMO if she were hiding out or taking a moment to get her head on straight, she would have surfaced by now.

Since the BF has been cleared, who should we look at? Random encounter with a stranger, one of the party goers? Seems like there is so little to go on. We need to hear more about that party, and what sort of shape she left in.

Looking at the area of Brown & Roosevelt; is that a massage business ran out of a home?

and I think we are missing a lot of info on the texts with the BF. In addition to info about the party. Hard to know what to do or where to look with so little info out there right now. I am sure the TPD is working this case and has a lot more to work with than we do.

I'm very concerned she may have sustained in her accident. She was angry, possibly drunk, probably scared, disoriented maybe.

I'm sure LE has already checked hospitals and homeless/women's shelters in case she suffered memory loss and wound up there.

I keep hoping she'll turn up alive, but it's getting harder to stay positive every day.

  • #97
Sorry to say this but I think the most likely scenario is that she was taken, possibly raped, and killed. Given the emotional state she was in, upset and confused, and drunk, and given that she must have been walking around for an hour or longer in the middle of the night, and she probably wasn't on guard ... sadly it's the most likely conclusion imo.

  • #98
Reported she called her bf 10 times and he didn't answer. Maybe he turned his phone off....so never saw her text.

  • #99
or maybe he was busy doing something else. Or maybe he lost it. Or maybe he had thrown it in the lake after the fight. Maybe he just didn't want to talk to her. Maybe maybe maybe.

I think if she was disoriented she would not have had the presence of mind to drive back towards her home after the accident, nor keep calling/texting her boyfriend and schedule a cab. Angry, sure. Drunk, plausible. Disoriented, probably not.

Unless, of course, it was a rapid onset hematoma caused by a concussion, and it occurred shortly after all of the phone calls and such. With something like that though, I would think she would've been found relatively quickly.

I'm still leaning towards either random foul play, or she is on the run and the girl that was found has something to do with why. Like another poster said, we need more info - particularly the context of the party and any and all phone correspondences.

IMO and all that.
