Man. I could've sworn we had a rather lengthy dialogue about police finding her phone. Oh well.
Wonder if the phone "died" or was just turned off after that last communication, or if LE can tell the difference. I guess it never pinged again? So was it taken from her at that moment?
And doesn't the video pick up the car again, leaving the lot? Or is it on any other video on the street? Seems strange to be only on one tape.
Two minutes is a long time if she was walking, shouldn't she have been at the market within two minutes? All these minute are confusing.
Hold the phone:
"The police report said Arteaga realized Salinas had left her cell phone on the seat of the car, so he got out to give her back the phone and allowed her to keep walking toward her apartment alone."
In an earlier article, they stated he called her roommate who came and picked her up. What the heck?
That's what I said. Tonto brought up the phone call times however, which indicate she was MIA for more like 11-14 minutes.
Yep, and while only a fifteen second walk from her pickup location. She would have beaten the cab driver to AMPM by a good 10 minutes if she hadn't stopped to chat with someone for 11-14 minutes.
Then again, cab driver had plenty of time to see her if he was coming from that way and turn in to scoop her up at O'Reilly's. Had nearly 15 minutes to secure her before heading over to the AMPM to "be seen" without her. Had a day or two to do what he wanted and get rid of evidence.
Man. Every time I turn around, it comes back to cabbie. Someone needs to talk me out of it. Had the means and opportunity, and a few motives come to mind.
Tonto... I really, really, really want to talk you out of this. Unfortunately, I cannot. :'( At this point in the game, if there is one suspect, it is everyone as far as I am concerned. Soooo baffled and dismayed.
I hate being this way. Logic owns me. Out of every scenario, the one that keeps coming to me is the simplest and most reasonable with the conditions and information we have. It keeps coming back to cabbie.
He had the means, opportunity, and potential motive. He also was in contact with her repeatedly AT THAT HOUR IN THAT IMMEDIATE VICINITY. There was a 13-15 minute timeframe between when she was seen on camera, when the car was seen on camera, and when he arrived at AMPM - 15 seconds away from O'Reilly's by foot. He had 10-13 minutes to secure her.
If he was also driving a dark sedan, then that's it as far as I'm concerned.
I have heard other cab drivers calling their fares over the radio, while in a cab. That part does nit bother me, especially at that hour, as if innocent, he would be wondering where she was if he got there and she did not.
