What if the car IS his, but she was already gone? She should have been out if the lot within two minutes anyway. She may have already been gone away in a different car not caught on tape. I hate to think the car is his and he is not the perp, as that leaves us nowhere.

Yes. There is that. :scared:

I am finally caught up and really do not have any comment besides to say I am glad they have the video and more info appears to be coming to light. http://www.kpho.com/story/22869930/police-report-sheds-light-prior-to-tempe-teens-disappearance
Police said surveillance video from O'Reilly Auto Parts at 1002 W. University showed a slender woman walking through the west parking lot of the store at 4:52 a.m. A dark four-door vehicle is also seen heading northbound through the same parking lot two minutes later, according to the police report.

Salinas' cell phone was found. Police say the last call went out to a cab company around 5:05 a.m. saying she needed to be picked up at an AM-PM. The cab driver told police he couldn't find her.

The woman approached Rio Salado Parkway and turned east with the white car following her, speeding rapidly and following too closely again, according to the report. The woman changed lanes as did the white car, which then accelerated to about 65 mph and passed her.

The woman said as she approached her turn at Ash Avenue from Rio Salado Parkway, she saw ahead of her a large amount of smoke coming from the white car’s tires and dirt in the air. The car had hit the east curb in the turn and both of the driver’s side tires were on the curb, flattened, according to the report.

I am not sure I believe that her phone was found. I think that report ^ is mistaken. No other source reported it. We talked about this for a long time, a few weeks ago.

Yes. It was discussed and found that the cited article was the only article that mentioned her phone had been found (in error) and another source provided factual information that it had not (and I will find that in the morning)...

Yes, I was just pointing out there was a new updated article. You would think they would double check and get their facts correct. I think I will contact the reporter and see if it is accurate or possibly they could remove it.

So maybe the BF left her AND called her roommate? On his way home? To tell her to look out for her or go meet her? Because LE said she made it home.

That would be great. They published this article not once but TWICE, verbatim and called the second one an "update" with just a number of days missing changed. Wrong info TWO TIMES. :(

Yes but in the current article, it states he "allowed her to keep walking toward her apartment alone." Did the roommate actually go and pick her up is what I am wondering (no doubt she made it home).

ETA: Not even sure how this is relevant except I'm getting tired of news reports being so deeply flawed.

She must have been in some state, getting out of his car so many times and then, after all that, heading right out again for more. Her state of kind likely contributed to either letting her guard down in taking the wrong ride, or in not noticing she was being watched, allowing her to be grabbed suddenly.

I wish BF would do a sit-down interview and clarify things, i.e when did he notice the texts and calls, did he reach the roommate to meet her, etc.

I was wondering the same thing about the roommate. But if she picked her up at 3:20 and Adrienne crashed her car at 3:44 that is less time than we had speculated on earlier.

We could use a new timeline with updated events. I am too tired tonight to attempt it. I'm on the east coast, so past my bedtime.

Prayers for you Miss Adrienne Salinas.

We see this poor reporting in all cases, it is a sorry state of affairs.

I did email the author of that article. Hope she will get it corrected.

Now, in an experienced opinion, does the poor reporting get worse as time goes by, for example are earlier reports more accurate or do the leaks of new information that would change the timeline trump the old info?
Does this make sense?

Here's another article, just in. This one says nothing about the video but does give a little more detail about what occurred prior to the "crash".

I posted that link in my post at the top of the page. The witness goes into quite a bit of detail for that time of day but look at the speed that Adrienne was reported to have hit the curb, 65mph? wow

How did I miss that? So sorry WideOpen. Your hard work is VERY MUCH appreicated!

65 in a 34-40 Really WOW! :(

The phone could have actually been found, but police wanted it redacted - or refused to confirm it to anyone else - because they didn't mean to let that info out. In that case, the author would not be required to correct her article if he/she has confirmed sources. I tend to believe that her phone is in their possession, and that it was either a) found during that big sweep a few weeks back, or b) found just before the big sweep and this is what triggered the size and scope of that massive search.

No apology needed, I was just trying to point out the new details, the witness describes the event in such a way that I can picture it vividly.

Thanks sandsage.
