Maybe the one thing they should NOT have leaked, was the fact, they have the person's DNA. That person could leave town or make sure they are never involved in a crime again. MOO

  • #562
Maybe that's why they released that information. Try to stir the pot a bit if you will.

I guess it would make people aware, if someone suddenly left. It would make that person suspect. I wish LE would have a meeting with all of Allison's immediate neighbors and another meeting with all of her co-workers. SOMEBODY might remember something or air some suspicion. The workers might even remember something Allison told them about someone!

I was over at Allison's house again last night and took a few more photos of the area. There are some I will be able to post I think but I first need to get them on my computer.

I did find something I hadn't seen before when I was there that I wanted to share with you. So, I used Google Earth to illustrate it:

Aerial View of Allison's area alleys etc.jpg

Here are some of my latest observations:

When you look down at the red lines, they are the alley's by Allison's house. I knew she had an alley directly behind her but when I went over there the other night, when it was so very dark, I couldn't see that there was another alley almost directly in front of her house. I spoke with some neighbors who were walking their dogs late at night and they told me that was the alley that LE had all the caution tape around. Maybe they had it in back too, I'm not sure, but I always thought the photo I had seen on the news looked different from that alley behind her house.

It certainly would make for an easy getaway for the perp. That could be why he left through the front instead of the back.

The other thing I noticed this time, because I walked down the alley right behind Allison's house, was that her back wall really is very low. In fact, a tall man would probably be able to see over it just standing there. And to top that off, the top one foot of the wall has openings in it, lattice style, that anyone can just look through. I took some pics of it last night to show how easily it is to see. I didn't go over there by myself this time. I went with one of our fellow websleuthers, who does not wish to be identified at this time. (Hopefully later.) I'm glad I didn't have to go alone. It was comforting to have a partner in crime, so to speak. :)

We had a nice chat with the neighbors who were walking with their dogs and got their take on things as they live right close to Allison and had met her on one occasion. They talked about how sweet she was and how sad it was at the same time. I asked them about cars in front of her house and they said there was rarely ever a car parked out front or in the drive, but that they would see cars go into the garage from time to time and didn't know what kind of car Allison even drove.

But what this told me is that probably if Allison had overnight guests, they probably parked in the garage and not the driveway.

Which also means they might have had their own garage door openers even, if they were regular visitors.

I have more I will add later but for now I'm not feeling very well and so I'm going to go lay down for a bit and then I'll try to come back and upload the pics I took that I feel I can share with you.

For now...keep posting. I'm enjoying your posts.

And the bottle of champagne makes me think of all the pics of wine and champagne in the photos of Allison's trip to Paris.

I actually don't think Allison would have left it out in a window. It makes me think even more that there was something amiss after that photo was posted. That bottle never got opened. There was probably no valentine's night celebration.

There would have been photos. IMO

Well, I'm thinking that as well. This house was new to her. So it would not be unreasonable to think about any work that she may have had done since living there. I'm thinking about contractors such as plumbers , or anyone else that she may have hired to do work at her house.

Excellent point.

I was thinking the same thing at first, because it was stated that she was having some home repairs on her house. The thing that troubles me about that is how likely would she expect a contractor to show up late at night? But, you never know. There was no forced entry,so I'm concluding she recognized the person.

What made me think of that was another case I saw when a woman had a guy do some light remodeling in her home.

I guess he came back a couple weeks later, and knocked on her door. He then told her he wanted to show her something in her basement that needed attention.

Once in the basement, he attacked and beat her till she was unconscious. He left the house thinking that she was dead, but she survived the attack.

No one knows what his motive was.

Great job MissD! I'm glad you didn't go back alone. The street view is great. I was just trying to make one myself.

A single young woman living in a home, alone, could be a target for anybody. Not so much a condo because of shared walls, close neighbors, etc. Wish she had stayed in her condo. It was a lot safer, IMO.

:goodpost: Wow! Anxious to see the photos you took. Hope you are feeling better! Good, not going alone. What time did you see the dog walkers? Wonder if they regularly waked their dogs the same time each day...

That Val.Day photo - it is so strange.... no glasses to drink from says something to me...

IIRC, she was interested in finding both handyman and landscape help, but that was not something recent? - MissD should know the answer...

Oh that's so scary. I remember watching, "Unusual Suspects" on ID. The man had done work in the woman's home and noticed where she kept cash in her kitchen. You know the end. It was a horrific murder.

MissD, thanks a lot for your pictures and the effort you and our other WSer put in to this case. I find the alley thing very troubling.

Thank you for this informative post. As for the dogs, if LE had questioned the neighbors immediately after she was found,I'm sure people that owned dogs would have remembered then. I'm also in agreement with #5.

Luvrosco, you know what's really strange about the dogs? Last night when me and our friend were over there poking around in the alleys and out front and all around and we were actually making some noise and talking, there wasn't a single dog barking. We were amazed. Not one dog bark and I would guess we were there for nearly an hour. Finally, when the neighbors came by walking their dogs on a leash, they did yap at us a couple of times. But that was all.

Interesting, so maybe the Valentine's Day bottle was not opened.

Unless, they had more than one bottle of champagne. But I think you're right. It was never opened.

Sort of a bizarre photo. Why are there two bundles of flowers? Why one bundle in a jar, and the other just laying on the table?

Also, I wonder if she was not a fan of chocolate? I see a little bag there, but not the big red hart shaped box of chocolates?

LOL Ibiz, there isn't a woman alive who isn't a fan of chocolate. :) I keep wondering about that extra bunch of tulips just laying on the counter. Not that men aren't capable of arranging things nicely, but honestly, I don't know many women that would have taken a pic with those flowers just laying out like that.

Being a $50 to $70 bottle of booze, I can see why it would be unopened. On the other hand, keeping it in the window would destroy the taste.

I got the feeling from looking at photos of their trip to Paris that they were definitely into fine wines and champagnes. I think that champagne was about $39 a bottle.

Great to get input from another local! Thanks! Agree!
A lot could be narrowed down if LE released more about the crime scene... would think if they were looking for a stranger/ random attacker they would...

ETA: :welcome: to WS and this thread!

Looking last night at all those alley's and her low wall that anyone could just peek through, it made me aware again of just how vulnerable Allison really was. What a terrible shame. :(

Perhaps their (i.e., Allison and her bf's) Valentine's Day celebration never really got started for some reason and the bottle was put up on the shelf. MOO.

Cumulus spotting that unopened bottle in the window only serves to strengthen my theory that you are quite correct. Valentine's Day had some kind of glitch.....

<modsnip>

I do know one thing, this was a cruel murder. It's like a maniac went off and did this. Her sister, cousin and parents can't come up with anyone so it is baffling and if this person never commits a crime again, they will never mind him on a DNA match, that is, unless someone comes forth.

You would think if they had any idea at all of anyone she was afraid of, who was harassing her, who she had an argument with, etc. they would have known it. It actually surprises me that there was no one in her life she had any kind of problems with. There must have been someone. Somewhere.

I wonder if during the 4 days forensics were carried out in her house, if the bottle was moved then to the window sill?

Either that or the cleaning people moved it afterward.

I'm not sure everyone knows that sun would damage the contents of a bottle of champagne. And -- if Allison's plans for opening it on Valentine's Day didn't pan out, and she had no future plans to open it soon, she could well have chosen not to refrigerate it. JMO.

I would bet my bottom dollar Allison wouldn't have left it out unless she was very upset or something drastic happened. People who love wine simply don't do things like that. I know. I'm a wino! :)

Just curious...is there any chance of us getting any local(s) verified....perhaps as 'insiders'...???

Nope. They don't verify locals, I was told today. :)

The reason Champagne is bottled in the darker green bottle is to protect it from light. I still find it odd it was not opened for the occasion especially since she posted a pic on FB.

Colette - YES! That's what makes it so very extremely weird. She (we think she did it by maybe not) posted that pic on Feb 14th at 12:02 p.m. It did imo look very staged. Not normal. And not to belabor this point, however, they always took photos of special occasions. Lots of photos. There were no photos after this. None. Zip. Nada. And no more posts...............

Maybe the one thing they should NOT have leaked, was the fact, they have the person's DNA. That person could leave town or make sure they are never involved in a crime again. MOO

I don't think they leaked it. They put it out there for a reason. imo

Maybe that's why they released that information. Try to stir the pot a bit if you will.

I'm thinking this could be the reason!

That would be a very long list! And don't forget to include the palm tree trimmers, and the garbage collectors.

I was thinking the same thing at first, because it was stated that she was having some home repairs on her house. The thing that troubles me about that is how likely would she expect a contractor to show up late at night? But, you never know. I will go down with the ship on that one Luv. Whoever it was, however they got in, I think she knew them. In fact I think she let them in and was probably aware they were coming over. #5

Great job MissD! I'm glad you didn't go back alone. The street view is great. I was just trying to make one myself.

Thanks Ibiz! Me too. Glad I had company this time. About the map...I don't know why I didn't do it before. It really helps to see the layout, imo.

Isn't it interesting how we are taught not to trust strangers, but if they can change a light bulb or fix a leaky fawcett they're our long lost buddy.

Well, thanks Steve, actually she was asking for those contractors referrals in May last year, but as much as she traveled she might have still been having things fixed. And some were those you would have on a regular basis, such as landscapers and pool men etc.

Sorry for that really long post ya'll. Don't know if that's proper protocol or not. But it seemed like the fastest way I could play catch up here. So many interesting posts I wanted to respond to.

One last thought....for a little while...

We always feel so safe in our homes. It's outside when we feel we have to exercise so much caution. But our homes are our safe haven. People don't normally break into homes in nice neighborhoods and murder people.
