Found Deceased AZ - Benjamin Anderson, 41, Car found burned, Phoenix, 31 Dec 2021

Since they have had the phone for some time I am hopeful it has brought useful evidence, perhaps it helped them identify the suspects they are focusing on.

I hope so, @formerlyme .

I don’t think whoever discarded Ben’s phone threw the phone in the canal straight away/immediately after he was killed because whilst Ben was missing (before LE had announced they had found body/identified him), I had been calling/texting him in a panic asking where he was, stating that everyone had been looking for him, etc.

When I did so (sent those panicked texts) through January 2nd, the msgs still came up as blue iPhone msgs. A message I sent him later came up green (as a regular non-iMessage would appear).

Well, today (09/17/2024) you would have turned 44.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

The kids, Mom. and my husband sang to you/for you.

It was kind of sad because as the song was concluding, normally, we would sing, “… And many more…” but I think we all realized when we got to that part, that the “many more” (birthdays) were stolen from you.

I miss you everyday, but I am especially missing you today.

It all just still feels unreal … so unfair. I still can’t believe this actually happened, and it’s been almost 3 years ago that this horrific event occurred.

Our family spoke about special moments, memories, places we’ve traveled together, etc.

I wish the children could have had you as a positive, influential, role model and loving friend longer.

I hope they were old enough, when you were taken from this earth, to have already known you long enough to always remember you, as I will.

I LOVE YOU.

You will live on in my heart always.

Sending you support today, @BenjaminJAndersonAlly, as you both honor and mourn your friend.

And Happy Birthday, Benjamin. Your life was cut short but you obviously left love and care in your wake.

Hoping for justice for Benjamin.

Today would be a good day for an arrest. Justice for Benjamin!

Thinking of all of his loved ones today..especially the very loyal @BenjaminJAndersonAlly - you are doing so much to keep Benjamin's love and name alive. Your friend still shines through you.

This caught my eye from the above:

“ Stahoviak said he knew Ben’s phone password and was able to access his “Find My iPhone” while he was missing. The data showed Ben’s phone pinged in his Phoenix condo the night before his disappearance, and it appeared his iCloud backed up around the same time that night.”

Hmm.

P.S. Also, happy birthday Ben. Justice is coming.

I think about Ben often and look for any updates but sadly there have been none. I feel awful for his loved ones.
the podcast I linked is new and drawing attention to the case, not really a drop of new info but does bring awareness and have to say they have put all the info we have heard together and I found that very helpful.

That podcast is a great resource, thank you.

Dear Websleuths Members and Guests,
It is truly hard to fathom the gut wrenching pain people feel who don't know what happened to their missing loved ones. Especially this time of year. What's so frustrating is there are hundreds if not thousands of unidentified bodies/remains all over the country waiting to be tested but because of budget issues no testing is taking place. Their families are suffering waiting to find out what happened to their loved ones. You can help those families get the answers they deserve and, at the same time, make sure those obnoxious ads stay off of Websleuths.com. Become a monthly subscriber to DNA Solves.com. The amazing people at DNA Solves work night and day to identify the missing.

As DS mentioned in the television report, this dress is not typical of Ben.

I had never seen him in fishnet stockings/dressed as a woman either, and I have seen a lot.

We have shared a lot.

If this was something he did routinely, or even occasionally, I, honestly, believe he would have shared this with me.

I am hopeful we will find out the “why” behind this once the charges are brought and the person or people responsible are taken into custody.

I can only say, in my opinion, his dress at the time his body was found burning has got to have something to do with what occurred during the interaction(s) that led up to the crime, or it was part of the crime, itself (e.g. maybe they drugged him & put the fishnet stockings, etc. on him/perhaps put fishnets on Ben after he was killed & purposely only set his head on fire to make a statement and/or attempt to embarrass him/maybe he was aware so they could ensure Ben knew during his last moments that he would be found dressed as such).

Like everyone else, my mind has been spinning trying to make sense of it all.

The whole thing is decidedly strange, indeed.
Curious as to where you get the information that only the head was set on fire. I don't recall anything other then the body was on fire and then a reference to the leg's clothing still being visible. Thanks.

No (not likely).

The above question assumes LE’s “persons of interest” and the individuals allegedly seen in and around the Lexus in the Sheraton garage are/will be determined to be the same individuals.

I am still not necessarily convinced the alleged suspect(s) in the Sheraton garage exist or if they do exist, I am not sure they are the prime suspects. If they are, it has certainly been on the dl and totally behind the scenes.

I say this because i have seen no evidence showing their images, sketches of their likenesses, video footage on which they have been captured, or anything “concrete” that otherwise suggests those alleged individuals have been actively sought after as suspects in Ben’s case.

Consider this … LE, this week, released hours of body cam footage of Ben’s burning body & the crime scene … YET … After 2+ years, we still have not been privy to the release of any Sheraton parking garage surveillance video.

WHY?

We have seen no video surveillance released from in or around the Super 8 parking lot. Why?

Any footage in or around the UEI parking lot that may have been indicative of who dropped the Lexus there/who burned the car? None available or at least none provided with the exception of the Citizens App/the car already burning/media reports after it had been burned.

I have never understood why LE has not released any and all available surveillance footage in order to solicit the public’s assistance with the hope of potentially identifying any of these alleged suspects that were supposedly part of said trio.

Circling back to your original question … If one were to accept it, as fact, that the trio does exist (as allegedly described as having been spotted that night), I still do not think “the friends” would likely be able to identify them, now, with any level of certainty.

With what has been said in MSM, it sounds like, in my opinion, they may not have gotten too good a look/not a lengthy look at the alleged suspects in the garage. There were variances in their accounts & in the subjects’ description(s). In MSM descriptions of the events that transpired, there was a lot of haste involved, adrenaline, etc. I expect the garage was likely pretty dimly lit … I doubt they would be able to identify them with any level of confidence following such a brief spot, a car chase … What was generally, by all counts, an extraordinarily stressful escapade. MOO
Sheraton video was obtained by Phoenix PD according to desk clerk. UEI had no cameras operational in back. I personally asked. Super 8 had video but I am not sure of Lexus location and coverage. As of Monday AM Jan. 3, 2022 no PD had stopped and asked to preserve because at that time Ben had not been ID'd and Phoenix PD just had a "ping" from the car at that location on it's missing person case. Hopefully MCSO followed up and it got obtained. But the "ping" might have been anywhere in the adjacent "OLD Kmart" parking lot is my assumption.
