Thanks for the comments from everyone else also, even though I missed the day I still got a "feel" for how it went. BTW, that "feel" was slooooooooow...:giggle:

Glad I could help! I hope you are feeling better.

One can only hope that is a sign they are close to a decision. I find it hard to believe a rational person would think this was self-defense. jmo

Ariz. Woman's Murder Trial Harkens Back Jodi Arias Case
April 1, 2014
By RYAN SMITH via GOOD MORNING AMERICA

Jurors in Arizona are deliberating the case of a woman accused of murdering her husband with a hammer, a case that brings to mind last year’s Jodi Arias trial in the very same courtroom.

Marissa DeVault, 36, a mother of three, has pleaded not guilty to the January 2009 attack on Dale Harrell, claiming self-defense. Authorities say she repeatedly struck Harrell, 34, over the head with a hammer as he slept in their suburban Phoenix home. Harrell died about a month after the attack, which DeVault says was triggered by years of physical and sexual abuse.

But prosecutors have attempted to paint DeVault as a cold, calculating killer. On her interrogation tape, made hours after the killing, she was seen laughing awkwardly about the events that night.

Nyvictoria, this is the only thread for this case :scared:........but........if you go through the first few pages, you can find links to what little was actually streamed on Youtube and news articles.

This would have been a really bizarre case to have watched on a day by day basis, but I think the Arias case soured the court system down there as far as the National media circus HLN rolled into town with.
Seriously, JVM running after a transit bus? And then you have the expense of housing and prosecuting the yahoo who threatened NG and can't remember the other HLN reporter. Our "favorite" *snort* local reporter, Mr. Keifer creating "celebrity status" with defense witnesses who wanted face time, ie. La Violet, and bad mouthing the prosecution.........Sure, it brought in local revenue to downtown businesses, but one has to wonder if the length of the trial was prolonged because the defense was playing to the media, as was Arias. Remember ol' JC having to take the stand (like WTH?) because of the defense's claim that there was jury misconduct? And how about the foreman, who obviously had ulterior motives once he knew he was on the jury?

How much money do you think HLN garnered from streaming the trial and their stupid "After Dark" nonsense? Probably far more than the cost of the trial and none of it went towards the legal costs of the trial. And half, if not more, of their commentator's "facts" were total BS.

Venting.......:banghead: Marissa DeVault hails from the "Jodi Arias School of Buffoonery". And HLN and their ilk have showed their true unprofessionalism with the Arias case.

As always, JMO.

The jury in #MarissaDevault hammer case makes their own schedule, doesn’t really matter to the Court how many days they take #OnTheCase

*UGH* I was not even thinking. Time diff. slipped my mind there for a minute...4 pm, unreal. And they leave court at 4:15 daily.
If they only go from 10:30 to 4:15 every day why do they even HAVE a lunch hour?!?
*SMH* yet again.... :banghead:

  • #900
Judge told them before deliberations that it would take him 45 minutes to round up the lawyers, so if they had a verdict at noon it would be read after lunch, if it was at 4:15, it would be done the next day, guess that goes for questions too.
