BBM - yes. I think whoever wrote that little blurb got their info from this article that was published a little before that article.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2617129/Arizona-woman-gets-life-term-hammer-killing.html

It states "A judge scheduled a June 6 hearing where he will formally impose the sentence and decide whether she can be eligible for early release after 25 years."

Just as we thought....jurors were influenced by the children. ( or so says one that was interviewed)

http://www.azcentral.com/story/news...devault-hammer-killer-death-sentence/8464681/

That's a rather annoying read. :banghead:

So there were jury members such as the one in that article who didn't want to feel responsible for taking away the girls' mother. That's infuriating. It wouldn't be the jury's fault for the defendant being on death row, the fault would lie on the shoulders of the defendant and her decision to murder her husband in an especially brutal way.

Yeah, it sucks for the girls, but by the time their mother would be executed, they would be adults and better equipped to handle it.
Either way, they are growing up without a mother and they haven't had any contact with her thus far, so it's not like she is going to have any active role in their lives. All they were to her was her ticket to get out of DP and they worked just like she orchestrated them to.
She was able to manipulate the jury after all and they didn't even see it coming. They fell for it hook, line and sinker.

I hope the judge can see through her BS and chooses to not give her early release. That woman needs to die in prison, there's no rehabilitating her.

:moo:

Then I realized it was just bad wording.... :okay:

Thanks Rhoz!

Jen now has a wordpress site for The Trial Diaries (thank goodness, I detest FB):

http://thetrialdiaries.wordpress.co...es-life-in-prison-for-murder-of-dale-harrell/

Found it accidentally, was looking for raw footage of the sentence (haven't found that yet).

This is excellent. So happy you stumbled upon it....well, not stumbled, but rather "discovered" it. Good for Jen; she works hard at her calling.

Agree with you on FB. It is a loathsome thing to me. If I am going to waste my time on something, I will waste it at WS!:blushing:

Arizona woman to be sentenced in hammer killing

PHOENIX — A judge is expected to formally impose a life sentence on an Arizona woman convicted of fatally beating her husband with a hammer.

The purpose of Friday’s hearing is to determine whether Marissa Devault (dehv-WAH’) will spend the rest of her life in prison for the January 2009 killing of Dale Harrell or become eligible for parole after serving 25 years.
