Steady (much needed) rain falling on the outside and watching Juan on the inside.....it has been a good day. See everyone tomorrow morning for the continuing cross!
I thought he looked exhausted too.
I think that he thinks if he just answers everything, "I don't know," then he won't have to commit to anything that will harm him. However, him saying, "I don't know," to the question of where Virgillo was is harmful to him. If he doesn't even know where Virgillo was, then how does he know Virgillo wasn't where he was or wasn't supposed to be? Why would he proceed into a situation without confirming his partner had his back? And if that's the case, then how can we say it's not Chrisman's fault for getting himself into a situation without making sure Virgillo was with him? For him to say, "Virgillo was not covering me, I thought I had backup," I, as a juror, would want to be sure Chrisman knew where Virgillo was and what he was or wasn't doing. For him to claim that Virgillo was not covering him when he isn't even sure of where Virgillo was is pretty bold to me.
It seems pretty obvious to me that he is using Virgillo as a scape goat. Listening to his testimony today I couldn't help but thinking that he was the one that kept escalating the situation. Even with what he was saying today, I just didn't get the feeling that he should have reasonably felt his life was in danger if he didn't shoot Rodriguez. And if he was so scared of him before walking responding to the scene, why did he attempt to grab him to make him come outside? Is that even protocol? If he refused to come out, couldn't they just go in?

:goodpost:
ITA with what you said. Isn't it funny how all of us seem to be on the same page? RC is nowhere near as heinous as CMJA. However, by trying to project everything else onto Virgillo, he IMO shot himself in the virtual foot. It will be interesting to see what the jury decides.
I'm ready for some more Juanomatic, let's get it in gear. lol
Does the trial start at 1:30 eastern? 10:30 AZ time? Should I call abc15 again to inquire whether they will live stream? I really hope they will. It would be cruel not to give us the satisfaction of watching Juan finish his cross. IMO

It would be too cruel if they pull the plug after yesterday's extravaganza. And yes, it's 1:30 Eastern start time.
