Does anyone know whether Chrisman is in jail currently or is he at home?

He's at home--the last thing the judge told him is that he must report back to court when the jury reaches a verdict or a warrant for his arrest will be issued.

I have had concerns, since the CMJA trial, that JM has had so much media exposure and it may have compromised him with judges and other attorneys. It seems that once someone achieves fame, there are a whole lot more people waiting to take you down. I don't know if this was a winnable case, and I would not be surprised if there was a hung jury or a NG verdict. Am I totally alone in my thinking?

You are not alone at all, I share your feelings, Zuri.

Guys, don't worry about what a tweeting defense attorney is thinking. (Defense attorneys in practice have time to tweet about other cases?)

Even very seasoned attorneys, ask Juan, cannot predict what a jury will decide. They may think they have hints, but never really. Juries are like a box of chocolates, you know the rest of that line.

Now, back to aphids. They are really cool to observe, outside. If inside take the plant out and quarantine it from anything inside. They make a mess inside. Outside, you will see them in a large yet tiny bodied group. If you watch long enough, you will see the entire group move, simultaneously. Really! It is cool, like one large bug heart beat. Okay, so that may be too much aphid acknowledgement, but they do not move if a human or critter is present. They are one with the plant, which is their food. You are not a threat, nor is the dog, cat, rat, bat, moth, etc... Fascinating stuff.

Now if you want to know how slugs mate, that is even more fascinating!

It didn't occur to me like that - we have afids...by a bush, that seem to have moved as one to their location, without a human or critter present. :o

I just ate so I'll have to read about the slugfest at some other time. ;)

Oh GV you are very witty. :floorlaugh:

Ok. My brain does not process real well, so it took me a minute and having to read this post twice to realize you were talking about REAL aphids and not AFIDS. I was like whoa, the AFIDS move once released from the taser as a whole? Goodness, am I slow :blushing:! Thanks for the :)

You are not alone in your thinking. However, I worked as a paralegal for a portion of my lifetime and experienced the courtroom/attorneys/law enforcement. Law is no different than any other workplace. You have people who like your work style and people who do not. You know who is honest and tough and those who you better watch your back because they are slimy. I truly believe Juan is liked, begrudingly by some, but he knows his stuff and leaves no stone unturned.

This jury just needs to be brave if they believe Juan proved his case. If the jury finds Chrisman guilty, it will put AZ LE on alert that if they overstep their boundaries and when they are turned in by fellow officers or the public (ie video), they will not get off scotch free.

Do you think the jury might fear recriminations by the police? The names of the jurors would be known to RC and his henchman I mean lawyers. :seeya:

:P :P

Board will not let me find the other emoticons, or I would have used the Monty Python Foot with the aphids posts. :floorlaugh:

Yep, Zuri, I know the feeling of Juan and too much coverage. I've seen it happen in a far away state before, NOT Florida lol.

I worry about jurors and fear of retaliation from cops. I worry about that in a case that involves jurors and any conviction, cops involved or not. I've seen too much. I just hope that these jurors are not the kind to worry and are in a state that hasn't had these issues. I do wonder how jury trials will be held 10 to 20 years from now, but that is another topic.

ETA: P.S. It is true about "aphids" though.

That has been my main fear all along.

No wonder they gave this ugly case to JM--he's not afraid of stepping on some toes in the name of justice.

Can you imagine how awful DR's mother must feel? She just wanted them to get him out of her trailer--instead, Chrisman felt like acting like a street 🤬🤬🤬🤬.

On the tape showing him planting that crack on a defenseless mentally ill woman, he's spinning his club around like a punk. He enjoys intimidating people--especially people who he has decided don't count.

He disgusts me.

IMO, it may cross their minds but they should not be afraid. If someone is afraid to be on a particular jury, it is easy to get disqualified at the get go.

Once again, I have enjoyed the day with this group. You are intelligent, wise and funny. Thank you Bernina for expanding my abbreviation vocabulary....I promise I will keep you company in the corner with our noses to the wall. We will be better behaved tomorrow. Everyone....have a good night.

IIRC, the tweets from last week indicated that the jury seemed "close" as they have been heard laughing. I really hope that they are now taking this seriously. I figured they would be back with a verdict on Friday or Monday, although I am hoping for one tomorrow.

Has it been reported what the make up of the jury is? Men? Women? There was a woman who was sick and dismissed and IIRC, she was African American and said to be the only minority on the jury.

So it wasn't the wind...the aphids FLEW next to the bushes or were carried by ants........hmmmm......the defense missed a big opportunity on that one

I don't think the jury are afraid of repercussions from the Phx LE....I think they'd be more afraid of Chrisman getting a pass, and showing up at a call at their house.
There's a group of LE up here called the Iron Brotherhood, motorcycle "enthusiasts". I know several of them that are from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Dept. They got into it with a civilian down on Whiskey Row a few months ago(off duty). One of the officers that quit after the episode, was really a good guy, helped out with a really bad situation up here in our neck of the woods. Sorry he left, but we still don't know what really happened.
Maybe it's just the small town thing up here, but if you have an issue with the Sheriff, you can pretty much just show up at the Chief's office in Prescott and have a sit down.
Hopefully this trial will help sift out the bad cops in Phoenix. It's been a long time coming, but they're cleaning house.

Served on a jury..murder..several members of the jury did not trust police and were afraid of them. This thinking did affect the verdict. IMO. Found second degree murder instead of first and the police were mere witnesses not really involved at the base level. Worry about this jury!
