Did you notice the other Defense Attorney (forgot his name again) he acted like he didn't want to be there.

His behavior is totally uncalled for. I don't think I've seen a Judge make so many facial expressions to show his disgust, disdain, disbelief, etc., in a court in front of a jury.
:stormingmad:

Credit must be given to Judge Stephens. She has been nothing but professional and unbiased. I can deal with endless sidebars and breaks but a biased Judge I cannot...

I don't think the jury is going to understand the impact of this verdict, I don't think I do, if they vote Not Proven, does that remove the 'aggravated' from the conviction and bump it down to simple assault?

  • #885
You know that is kind of what I got out of it too! Then prosecutor came back and asked the witness about it. How low is that for the defense? Like here lady you got your wish! They should be ashamed of themselves.

It was "below the belt", totally uncalled for and the defense had the chance to nail her down to a time frame or period for her emotional state AND THEY DIDN'T.
They couldn't go into DR's mom's mental or medical situations, but bulldoze in with the pot conviction.... *insert a derogatory term here*
I am having to rein myself in to the extreme.

:banghead: Yes, a pot conviction make that testimony far more false than someone killing someone without justification, who just happens to wear a badge, and testifies with crocodile tears, REALLY!?!?!?! :stormingmad:

I sure did, he looked sweaty and uncomfortable like he wanted to disappear into thin air, hope RC has enough tissues for the two of them.

She has to deal with sexism in her position (good ol' boys) and those 2nd guessing her rulings. I think she did a good job with the garbage she had to deal with from Miss Thing (CMJA) and her cohorts. I think she played it "safe" rather than "sorry".

This Judge..................AURGH! Despicable:banghead:!

I still have XP and will probably have to upgrade soon (because websites upgrade to higher browsers than XP will take), and not looking forward to it. Just so tired of relearning an operating system for the umpteenth time for no real benefit except to put more money in the pockets of MS. :(

For what they had to work with, and the media's resistence in covering this trial, I think the divas did a pretty darned good job.
