The car is important!!! VERY! One key into this case..........now we wait and poor baby is some where and no one can do anything til evidence comes in to piece this puzzle together!
Might be adoption papers or something left in car???
Since MOMSTER was in a hurry to get to Fla.

Any idea yet, or did I just miss it, why she went to Florida? What is it with these criminals, that they feel such compulsion to commit crimes in or flee to states like Texas & Florida. :waitasec:

With an adoption, don't you have to have both parents signatures? I am just not sure about how that all works.

Not if she says the father is unknown. In that case the notice would have to run in a legal instrument for 6 weeks...any legal instrument in the State.

Even if there wasn't joint custody, legally the dad has to sign away his rights. Even if he only had visitation...if there is paternity established, he has legal rights.

Well, I'm not sure if it would have been considered an illegal adoption. If it was before Logan was awarded full custody then I don't think it would have been illegal.

we recently adopted a child (10 months ago). although the father's name was listed as "unknown" on her birth certificate, the judge still made us complete a "reasonable search" for the father. after a couple of dna tests, he was found. we were still REQUIRED to get him to sign off his parental rights. i don't know what was on gabriel's birth certificate, but i don't think any adoption would have been legal without logan's consent.

as a matter of fact WE had LEGAL CUSTODY of our baby and still could not adopt without consent of BOTH parents. (if they had not consented we would have had to go to trial.)

If the father does not cooperate, there are legal avenues that must be followed if the mother and the agency agree that they want to continue to work together toward the original adoption plan. If it is determined the father will upset the process, the mother is counseled about her alternatives. The decision whether or not to continue with the process is always made by the birth mother.

She was picked up in Miami Beach. I'm trying to figure out the connection too, why she ended up in Florida.

Maybe she wanted to have some fun in the sun and celebrate her "new life" without a boyfriend and baby weighing her down?

Maybe she thought Miami would be a good place to restart. Since she was staying in a hostel, I doubt she had friends there. Or at least good friends, because I'm sure a friend would offer a sofa for her.

Ok, First EJ says that she met this nice couple @ a park and decided that they should have her child NOW she (per the Smiths) say that she found a loving family in the San Antonio area, spend a few days with them and decided to leave Gabriel there.
