Elizabeth Johnson, 23, looked tired and depressed as she held her newborn son, Smith said.

"I looked at that situation and said, 'She doesn't want that baby,'" Smith said, before walking over to Johnson and asking her if she was looking for someone to adopt her child.
~snip~
Smith said she and her husband, Jack, wanted to adopt Gabriel and that both of his parents wanted to give him up at different times, though never seemed to be on the same page about it.

And much more, including Smith's comments that they were duped and neither parent is fit, she also says she has been working with the police. Hmmm.

San Antonio police found Johnson's car a the parking lot at a South Side motel Tuesday. Investigators said a tip led them to the motel. They found Johnson's car parked in the back with a child car seat still inside. Investigators said there were no obvious signs of violence.

News 4 WOAI spoke to workers at the motel about whether or not Elizabeth Johnson stayed there.

"Not under that name," hotel clerk Sylvia Cisneros said. "If she used a different name, if somebody else checked her in, I have no idea."

Investigators learned Johnson purchased a bus ticket on December 27th and was alone when she boarded a bus bound for Florida.
They told News 4 WOAI there are indications that Gabriel Johnson is still alive, and that his mother may have been trying to get rid of him, give him up for adoption, or sell him.

lol I know this isn't a funny situation but for God sake if someone was to think that I didn't wany my children every time I looked tired and depressed holy cow. lol

If she did look tired and depressed that doesn't mean she didn't want the child, why would someone just walk up to a mother during a time when the person obviously felt the mother was vulnerable and ask hey you wanna get rid of your kid. If she is looking tired and depressed you offer her help, maybe carry a freakin bag, you don't carry her child OFF! I hope once this is all out there in the wind NO ONE will give this woman a freakin child. It seems to me that she has a sense of entitlement. I would also like to know if her stepdaughter looked "tired and depressed" when they took her child from her and then went on to adopt her?

I think whoever said that she has had to many colonic straight to the brain was 100% correct in that assumption!

"What she is telling us is that she met a family, a Caucasian man and woman with no child -- young," Tammi Smith told "Good Morning America."
"And she met them in the park. And she was crying and distraught and they came up to her and said, 'How can we help you?'"
When pressed for details about the couple, Smith said Johnson didn't remember much despite having spent three days with them, just that the woman's first name was "Cheryl." Tammi Smith said Johnson told her she purposely tried not to focus on their car or last names so she wouldn't be tempted to change her mind and get her son back.

"She believed she was doing a closed adoption," Tammi Smith said.

Why isn't LE investigating TPS right now?? How about child services....look into that "adoption"???

Can't they charge her with black market adoption or trying to buy a child??

The "underground" network...is that a black market adoption thing???

TFS is full of crap and so is EJ. I really don't know what to think now.

  • #807
Based on Elizabeth's initial meeting with TPS your 'twist' would seem like a plausible explanantion to her.

Per TPS
"I looked at that situation and said, 'She doesn't want that baby,'" Smith said, before walking over to Johnson and asking her if she was looking for someone to adopt her child.

Gee, that's the first thing I'd think to say if I met a tired young mom at the airport. I feel just like my kitty with the Rubik's cube.

Is this lady for real?? Who does that? Sometimes I'm worn out from my kids, but if someone approached me like that I might just smack them.

Someone needs to be asking the hard and most obvious question "How did you meet this couple?"
The thought that they just approached this distraught egg donor in the park and she handed her baby over to them is as unbelievable as TPS approaching her in the airport.
I gotta give AZ LE kuddo's, they're not stupid and they know that if anyone need an enema it's TPS, cause she's full of it!

What really gets me right now is that there is possibly a couple out there somewhere with this baby and they have to know what they have done will eventually be found out. Why don't they just come forward and do the right thing? What they are doing by keeping Gabriel will ruin any chances they have of a future adoption. This is of course assuming that Gabriel is still alive and that there is a grain of truth to EJ's story.

After the FBI found the car last night, I went to bed feeling hopeful and was relieved that I wasn't thinking the worst.
I was really hoping that when I checked the news this morning that the baby would have been found safe and sound....no such luck. It's still early, maybe we will get good news later today....I'm hoping.

If I had random strangers wandering up every time I looked depressed or upset...I'd have my own cult following.
That just doesn't cut it. Never happened once.
To believe that EJ would be so "blessed" as to encounter 2 of these couples in 8 months...well someone get a her some colon hydrotherapy, she's full of...

I am just catching up on this case and I have to chime in on the "tsisfullofsh!t" side of things! For one, a closed adoption would not be one in which you would hand over a baby to people whom you saw their face, spent time with, etc!!! I am adopted and mine was closed... the social worker handed me to my parents and it took me 36 years to find my birthmother thru adoption search angels! THAT is closed adoption. Conversely we adopted my own son thru an open adoption and only knew the mother's FIRST NAME even though we met her and were there for my son's birth and send pictures every year.. that is OPEN adoption.... much like what she alleges she did at this park with "Cheryl"

TS knows about adoption so that little slip up about "closed" could mean that she handed the baby to Cheryl to give to a "third party" and perhaps Miss Smith knows about it.

Smith rings my hinky bell! big. freaking. time.

also want to add that TS knows her adoption terminology and understands what open and closed is. If I were LE I would be on her like white on rice.

anonther possibility... did TS have any friends etc that were also trying to adopt??? Did she belong to adoption support groups, etc? (just brain storming ) TS could think she is so about Gabriel's birthparents that she may have arranged a "closed" adoption with Elizabeth.. saying meet so and so at the park to hand off the baby.. who is than taken to the third party.

Wait, so now EJ has said she killed him.
EJ has said she gave him to a random couple she met in a park.
EJ has said she had an underground network helping her.
EJ has said she spent three days with this couple.

All depending on who you believe. Somebody hypnotize this woman, or whatever. Just get some dam answers. Real ones that don't change when the wind blows.

  • #814
Smith also she and her husband had temporary guardianship of the boy in late November and early December for about 10 to 12 days while the couple was deciding what to do.

A Tempe detective was at the Smith home when they took in Gabriel and saw paperwork on the matter, though spokesman Sgt. Steve Carbajal said it's unclear if there the documents had any authority since they weren't court-issued.

this is news to me ....

This is news to me too. If they were "fake" papers so to say, why would they need Logan's signature? This bit of information is confusing me.

  • #815
What about TPS calling the father and saying that if he would just sign over the baby, EJ would tell him where he was?

Isn't that attempted extortion??? Why can't they haul her extremely clean azz downtown for some heavy duty questioning, at the very least??

And I agree totally with whomever it was who posted that she is just one hop, skip, and a jump away from stealing a fetus!

  • #816
Just a thought....couldn't they arrest TPS on charges regarding "buying" a baby?
have they looked into her "adoption" of her step daughter's child??? I think getting some charges on TPS might loosen her up a bit...get her talking some truth??

(and yes...NOTE to Self....IF I am in Arizona again and get a hankering for a High Colonic Enema, don't book an appointment with TPS's Colonic Service LOL LOL)

ITA with you on the bolded and unbolded parts!

Yah, I think it's a load of malarky. If you had seen me carting my screaming 3 year old through the Chicago airport (from London) and missing our flight to San Diego == you may have asked me "am I okay", but you sure as hell are not going to ask me "do you want to put your child up for adoption".

That's the wackiest, quackiest, story I've ever heard!

And if I'm not mistaken people have been arrested for asking that question. In most places baby shopping outside a legitimate venue like an adoption agency is flat out illegal. Arrest this lady already.

This might be a stretch but there is an attorney located 10 minutes from the hotels EJ stayed in...the attorney's office is located right across from the Airport and her name just happens to be Cheryl.

Cheryl L Wilson adoption San Antonio - Google Search

Forgot to mention she practices family law![/QUOTE]

Well, I'm not sure if it would have been considered an illegal adoption. If it was before Logan was awarded full custody then I don't think it would have been illegal.

Not true. You have to terminate both parents' rights for another family to adopt the child. It's only needed for one parent when someone like a stepparent is adopting the child, and only if they contest it.
