My hope is fading VERY fast :(

When Elizabeth sat in the car for awhile before getting out and going to the bus station, I wonder if she was sitting there because she was talking to someone on the phone? I hope the police have her phone records so if she was talking on the phone, they would know who she was talking to.

It's funny how her lawyer's name hasn't been mentioned. I can't believe he would tell her not to help find the baby, unless, like others have suggested, he is no longer alive. She had a lawyer last week when she talked to TPS, why the sudden change?

I would think if she had done something and admitted it, they WOULD be doing a deal if they have evidence..or the lawyer would be working on insanity plea?

PHOENIX - Logan McQueary, the father of the missing 8-month-old Tempe baby, is again speaking out on his past with the baby's 23-year-old mother Elizabeth Johnson. He's also losing hope that Gabriel will ever be found.

...
His message to the unidentified couple that allegedly adopted Gabriel in San Antonio, Texas: "I just want them to realize how much I miss him and how much I want him. To be a part of my life, my family, and realize what they're doing to everybody," said McQueary, choking back tears. "I just want them to do the right thing, and get him home."

Earlier Monday, Elizabeth Johnson's grandfather visited her in jail and they talked for about 20 minutes. He says he encouraged her to tell the truth, but she isn't prepared to speak.

"She's prepared to stay strong in her conviction that she did the right thing and the baby's in good hands," said Robert Johnson.

Okay...why can't she tell grandpa that Gabriel is ALIVE? He said most of the things he wanted to ask her - she isn't allowed to talk about. Excuse me, she's not allowed to talk about whether or not Gabriel is ALIVE?

I'm so sorry, but this doesn't sound hopeful.

Thank you for this link, Very interesting- and to me, very telling, also.

She told him, "her lawyers say helping find her baby won't help her".

"They told her kidnapping is kidnapping, and she's going to get twenty years".
.

Ha ha, you'd think this attorney was being paid by the Smiths.

I apologize for not staying up on all the posts due to muscle spasms in my back so can only sit here for only so long at a sitting. I missed what this deadline is about. ???

It is EJ's first day in court.

"Bob said Elizabeth doesn't know why she'd help investigators since her lawyers told her she's going to prison for 20 years no matter what she does to help them."

This article is greatly upsetting to me. It sounds like she is still seeing Gabriel as a THING, not a person. She doesn't even care that Gabriel needs to be with his family, she doesn't care that he's with strangers that will have to watch their every move for the rest of Gabriel's life. All she cares about is her situation.

I am so bothered by this that I can't find the words to express myself.

She doesn't know why?? It doesn't cross her mind it's to help a baby? HER baby?

Pure sociopathy.

This is devastating.

This new conversation between EJ and her grandfather at the jail is like a punch in the gut. MOO, the most telling evidence so far that Gabriel is no longer with us. :(
I'm feeling much sadder after reading it too.

Reading back about where EJ's car was found, the UPI article states it was found at a Motel 6 (WTH?). She allegedly stayed in SA at two different Homewood Suites hotels, according to previous reports. What the rinky dink was the car doing at a Motel 6??? I'm not positive, but this isn't a typo is it? I kept wondering why if EJ stayed in two different Homewood Hotels, why the news stations kept showing a Motel 6 when they would often talk about her time on the run before she was found in Miami.

Anyone know if LE ever checked the dumpster near the Motel 6 where the car was found or if they ever checked the landfill where the hotel's trash gets dumped? Somehow I'm thinking this is a type somehow, but I really have no idea.

I think this rules out her knowing nothing about a random couple.
I think this rules out the description.

If not, she'd be saying "I told the polices everything I know.... I met a random couple and they took him"

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Exactly!!! She is doing the opposite of what an innocent person would do.

If this is innocent and all she did was hand off Gabriel in an illegal adoption then she'd qualify for a light sentence depending on her cooperation.

She is using this as an excuse NOT to cooperate which to me means that anything she says will just make it worse for her than it is now.

The bus line she used is a stone's throw from where she left the car at the Motel 6. It was reported they have checked all the trash at all the locations they knew her to be but it was not confirmed that they checked the landfill even though they did narrow it down to one.

Please do not let your hope fade and here is why. If she really was so spiteful that she would kill Gabriel she never would have looked into adoption, second if she really cared so little about the Gabriel then she never would have hired a baby sitter she would have doped him up on benadryl or something and left him there. If she "hated" him so much to have killed him then she wouldn't have even bothered changing his clothes but she did you can tell by the pictures. Another thing, if she killed Gabriel do you really think she would have text Logan and confessed?
I think she is spiteful but I just dont think she is a killer. I am leaning more to the fact that she did give him up and I do feel he is endanger because whoever has him may think this is getting way out of control and may kill him out of fear of getting caught or EJ or TS whoever is involved giving them up.

I actually hate to see these high profile cases with an indigent defendant and a public defender. While I sometimes hate those high profile lawyers, they would be bringing out more about the Smith's right now and with a PD I always worry they are working too tightly with prosecutors.

Having said all that, I don't think any lawyer would say this either.

Who is her lawyer and why hasn't he/she been named?
