Johnson had a history of domestic-violence-related incidents and is in a diversion program for her actions, according to a Tempe Municipal Court spokeswoman.

A clerk at Tempe Municipal Court confirmed Monday that Elizabeth Johnson was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in July involving an incident in which she is accused of causing $4,000 damage inside the Tempe apartment she shared with McQueary.

McQueary earlier had filed an order of protection against Johnson in Tempe Municipal Court because he said he was afraid Johnson would hurt him and Gabriel, but the order was later dismissed after McQueary tried to work things out with Johnson, McQueary stated in the court document.

In the July incident, McQueary told police Johnson tore apart a baby crib, took a knife and cut up baby clothes, McQueary’s clothes and the couch, and smashed windows of the apartment and a television set. In another incident, Johnson later hid Gabriel but accused McQueary of taking him, according to a request for custody of the child McQueary filed with the Maricopa County Superior Court on Dec. 11.

The baby was found hours later at the home of one of Johnson’s friends after police conducted a search for him.

In the document McQueary wrote, “She has said several times in the past she doesn’t want the baby, has yelled and screamed at him when I would go to work, I would put him in his room, and when I would come back five hours later, he would still be in the room with no changed diaper and crying. I would ask her (Johnson) what she was doing, and she would just yell at me and say 'shut that thing up.’”
Child Protective Services also has an open case against Johnson, investigating her for neglect of the child, according to the court document

From now on I will call this 23 year old WOMAN "Thing"...to me she is a dirty nasty thing....poor Gabe loved her according to other interviews...that poor baby. I hope he is alive and I hope she does many years in prison..and please don't waste money on "protective custody" for this THING>>> let the other gals in prison "meet" her

I completely agree with you! The father shouldn't have stopped pursuing the order of protection. They decided to play nice again so he dropped the case? Ridiculous! He knew what she was capable of!!! With the obvious exception of EJ, I feel the father and the system should carry more blame than the GF or neighbors. IMO

She threatened her poor baby his entire short life. She went into violent rages. She neglected her baby and wouldn't even address his most basic needs, such as regular diaper changes. It is obvious she doesn't give a crap about him. You are giving her far more credit as a mother than she deserves, IMO. It appears that this child had a horrific life with his "mother", and I use that term loosely.

Her actions as a mother have no bearing on her being intelligent and articulate. Some of the most evil people in history have been intelligent and articulate. It didn't make them any less evil.

You could very well be correct and little Gabe is dead and she killed him. I certainly hope not.

Motherhood was never really Johnson's strong suit, Bob Johnson said.

"She discovered after eight months that there's more to this parenting than she wanted to get involved in," he said. "It was not her thing. She was into fashion."

Nothing will convince me that a couple just walked up to Elizabeth at that park!
The meeting was arraigned in advance, there was probably an attorney involved, she met the couple, hung out with them for 3 days at the hotel/s, signed the papers then left Gabriel with them. jmo

If an attorney was involved there are at least 4 people who know where this baby is, if the Smith's were involved there are at least 6 people. Someone needs to step up to the plate and get that little boy home to his Daddy!

On the video showing Elizabeth in court, (wearing the orange jail jumpsuit), you can see her 'work' her jaw. That is a sign she is coming down from a meth binge.

People coming off meth have a tendency toward violence and rage.

I do not believe there was any other threat to harm or kill Gabriel other than the ones LM talks about in the text messages during her "road trip". He did say that she mentioned adoption when Gabriel was about 3 weeks old so perhaps that's where this "threat" information is getting mixed up. She "threatened" to put him up for adoption at 3 weeks, not to harm or kill him. MOO

ITA. And some other thoughts on this:
IF EJ gave Gabe to "a couple she met at the park", if said people cared anything about what was best for Gabe, they would have taken him to the police before EJ was ever even arrested in Florida.
IMO, either these people don't exist, or they have already harmed/abused/killed little Gabe.
No WAY would they be able to get away with suddenly having an 8 month old child in their home, and nobody notices???

I find it VERY telling that police aren't asking anyone to come forward who has noticed a friend/family/neighbor/coworker etc that suddenly has an 8 month old infant. LE doesn't believe EJ's story at all, IMO.

ETA: If a woman approached me in a park and asked me to take her infant and give it a good home. I would gladly take the child....DIRECTLY to the nearest police station. If police allowed me to keep the child while they investigated, I would gladly do so. But no way would I just walk away with a baby, and assume he was just mine to keep now.

Actually, this morning on GMA the LEO sitting beside baby Gabriel's dad did say something about that. He asked the public to be on the lookout for people purchasing such items and for families/individuals not known to have been expecting or adopting with a new baby. Paraphrased.

JMO but I'm afraid this poor baby is indeed dead at the hands of his mother. I'm not getting a good vibe from this socio-mom. She sounds exactly like Casey Anthony. Perhaps they can one day share a cell.

But......... I've long wondered what I would do if I ever found an infant. So many are tossed away like garbage....if I ever found one...I honestly don't know what I would do. I have seriously given consideration to simply keeping him/her. So, honestly is someone were to offer me one in a park...I may have accepted.

If she did hand this baby to someone....who knows what she claimed to protecting him from? It was good enough to convince the Smiths

Thanks, Kamille. I'm thinking her meds mentioned by the grandfather might have contained some of her rage, and then when/if she came off them as he said, that rage boiled up. A somewhat gradual simmer-to-boil culminating in whatever happened Dec 27.

I'm so scared for this sweet precious little baby. Praying hard for Gabriel. Praying hard for his daddy to stay strong. Praying hard for LE to find Gabriel wherever he may be.

Perhaps we are looking at Postpartum Depression? She didn't want anything to do with her baby. Old Daddy seems to have known she wanted nothing to do with the baby and wanted to give him up....Yet, he left her alone with his son day after day.....

I'm sorry I wasn't more specific, LM. I'm looking for threats to kill or harm him. "I'm going to kill/beat/strangle/get rid of him" kind of stuff. Where she shows an awareness of intent, awareness of her feelings of wanting to do away with him violently as opposed to adoption. Not sure I'm being clear. Need more coffee

Think about it she don't care about Gabriel, she has made it clear she don't want to be a mother and wanted to give the baby up for adoption... if he were alive do you really think she would be sitting in jail to protect him, when she didn't protect him to begin with.

Well leaving him alone or unattended for hours...calling him "Thing"..

she was already in anger management

she was on antidepresants for postpartum

the police had already searched for him months ago when he was "missing">. and she had him stashed at a friend apartment

she is a violent and rageful THING IMHO....isn't there enough evidence that this baby was in danger?? I blame them all...

and I especially blame her

I could care less about her bad childhood, her depression or whatever other excuse will come up...all that would make me feel sorry but when I see that sweet baby's face I don't care about her or about any of them
