Just my opinion...
The wall thing in the presser was described as a "note"...not a scrawl (which NG described it at). So, if it is true, we aren't dealing with a scribble, we aren't dealing with height recording, we are dealing with something someone perceived to be at least relevant. Given how Isabel was described in the beginning it wouldn't surprise me if she could write a coherent sentence on a wall. IMO. I think if the reporter brought it up, and it exists, it may be important here.
Now about LE's statement about it. While Hawke said she had no knowledge of it, and I don't think she has insight into every piece of the investigation - only what LE wants out there, she also said about evidence that may or may not have been found: "We will not confirm nor discuss it".
