Maybe some child will RIP in peace now and have some justice!

Not too far from where I live, about 1/2 hour drive :(

Poor kid...... But since we've considered California and her being taken there before, it may make sense too, in the same State as it takes some planning to put a child into a trunk or box and dump into a Lake where they think she'll never be discovered, or at least for quite some time.

I don't think it's Isa. Sounds like it could be an older female by a few years. Also the location is not near Tucson.

The reason it made me think of Isa is that my daughter is close to her age. My DD is now 9. Poor Isabel and Jhessye didn't get that chance. :(

We've been there several times over the years & it's not that far from Tucson. Many people from the area go to Roosevelt & Apache lakes. How sad to be left out in a blue container. Glad to read they used tape though. Maybe that tape holds prints or fibers.

I don't think this could be Jhessye. LE has testimony from someone who gave Jerice a ride and she had a suitcase with her which had a bad odor.

This container sounds like it is one of the plastic storage bins? Would Isa have had shoes on?

Knox,

That's exactly what I was wondering (about the shoes). Isa wouldn't have been wearing shoes to bed. And allegedly she was "taken" before the family got up. I know I never heard anything about her wearing shoes or any of her shoes being missing.

Interesting that Tucson news hasn't reported the remains being found. Texas & NY have, but not Tucson.

Gut feeling I guess.

For so long, I've strongly felt Isa's parent was involved in her disappearance. Lake Apache doesn't seem to fit the timeline of that night (too far away). I've also wondered as an alternative to Isa being dead; if her parents intentionally "disappeared" her for the sake of another one of their children.

In the end, I may be wrong about all of the above.

Just saw this thread and dropping by. Hard to believe little Isa has been gone this long and she has not been found yet. I never thought it would take this long. kwim?

MCSO investigating human remains found in desert near Apache Lake

The age range does bring to light three high-profile missing persons cases close to the Valley. It's important to remember that authorities have not indicated that the human remains are connected to any of these cases.

Mikelle Biggs, an 11-year-old girl from Mesa, vanished in 1999 while waiting for an ice cream truck with her sister, according to police records.

The girls sister went back home to grab a jacket, but when she returned her sister was gone, according to authorities.

Biggs' bike was located close to the incident with one of the wheels still spinning and quarters were on the ground, according to police records.

In another case, Isabel Celis, a 6-year-old girl from Tucson, disappeared from her bedroom in April of 2012.

Jhessye Shockley, a 5-year-old girl from Glendale, went missing in October 2011. Her mother, Jerice Hunter, was arrested in September 2012 and remains behind bars in connection to the girls' disappearance. Jhessye's body has not been found.

The crucial tip that lead them in that direction is reflected on page 925 of the report. There it is revealed that on Nov. 23, about six weeks after Jhessye was reported missing, a woman contacted investigators.

That woman said that seven to 15 days before Hunter reported her daughter missing, she gave Hunter a ride to Tempe. At the time, Hunter put a large, heavy suitcase in the woman's trunk. When they got to Tempe, Hunter put it in a Dumpster. Hunter even apologized to the woman for the smell of the suitcase. Police tested the trunk of that car and it tested positive for blood.

I don't recall but SC works for a dental surgeon & mom's a nurse, I'd think she had records. Not finding anything searching though.

If she did, we would get an exclusion pretty quickly.

Officials with the Phoenix Police Department and Tempe Police Department have been in touch with MCSO investigators to compare notes on missing persons cases.

Officer James Homes with Phoenix police confirmed that detectives have been in touch with MCSO. He did not say if there were any indications that the remains may be connected to a Phoenix case.

Lt. Michael Pooley with Tempe police said detectives have spoken with MCSO, but does not appear to be related to any of their investigations.

Sgt. Tony Landato of Mesa police said their detectives have also been in contact with MCSO regarding the investigation.

Sgt. Jay C. O'Neill, spokesman for the Glendale Police Department, said that detectives have not been in contact with MCSO.

Sources tell ABC15's Christopher Sign that the bones could have been in the desert between 2 and 20 years depending on exposure to the elements.

I did find where RC describes what Isabel had on the last time she saw her before bed.

Becky Celis told a dispatcher she had put braided ponytails in Isabel’s hair before she went to bed. She said Isabel was wearing an Old Navy American flag t-shirt and navy blue shorts when she last saw her.
