I missed the beginning, but did anyone ask if there were any similarities between Isabel's disapearance and the assault on the kids in NE tucson??

  • #302
It's going to be short
They can't share things of a sensitive nature

They plan to not do 2 pm pressers, only media releases

I said on Sunday that these would only last a week (one a days). But not even that long...

Nope, MvD -- sheesh

  • #304
If there are outlandish theories that are getting out of hand, why would the family have to be the one to clear those up? Why couldn't Pacheco just clear it up at the presser?

  • #305
Actually he left it open as to whether they would continue with the PC's..the media wants them, even if he can't share much. He has to check with superiors.

  • #306
No, that means that the forcible rape was reported and marked on the map on the 30th at the same address area.

I'm lost..

outlandish theories getting out of hand on social media re: family

thinks it would be helpful for the family to clarify some of the misperceptions

LOL I knew that one was coming, I have heard they are not too happy about some of the drivel being spewed on the internet about this case.

Lots of misinformation on social media sites. Lots of outlandish theories getting out of hand. He thinks the family should speak out just to clear up those ideas. He doesn't know the family so he doesn't know how to answer questions about how they feel.

Translation: Saying the parents staged this for the money is ridiculous and we do not support those theories.

This case is starting to feel hopeless :(

But notice LE won't go on the record and officially clear the parents. Mixed signals IMO.

I am just guessing here, but it seems that none of the videos they saw showed anyone carrying someone off into the night...and that the one they showed us, with people in it, was probably the only one of any potential interest at all....JMO

I thought the daily briefings would continue until the end of the week, but it sounds that's not going to happen.

If Isabel's parents want to do everything possible to find their daughter, they need to speak to the media. I don't recall any other parents or family members who didn't make every effort to do what is necessary to locate their missing child. There has to be a reason why Mr. and Mrs. Celis won't talk to the media. What are they afraid of, or what are they hiding? :moo:

Had lunch with a girlfriend who confirmed big police presence, crime scene tape from the two story home across from Celis home, down to the property behind the Celis home on Saturday night. The point being, the surveillance tape is from sometime prior to Saturday April 21-Sunday April 22.

Yea, I agree, it is strange they have not cleared them yet. I think we will be hearing from mom and dad very soon.

I think TPD is doing the best they can, I have some cousins who work for TPD, good people, its a good department. My family has been in Tucson a long time, it is widely considered to be Tucson's first family. I can tell you that there are a lot of very good and concerned people working around the clock to find Isabel, what I cant tell you is what they have to work with, I assume not much but my experience tells me they have someone in mind and are slowly working towards a resolution.

I don't doubt that, I have at least 11 family members (mostly immediate) who are in LE throughout the country, I have faith in them mostly. And I don't suspect the family really. Nothing they have done/don't do raises any flags with me (besides not speaking to the media - which just frustrates me). But, I think that if they are innocent, LE is doing them NO favors to make that message clear. If they want people to stop speculating online - clear the family. If they have a reason for keeping it secret, why address it in public to begin with.

I drove past the Celis house yesterday. From the get go I was thinking this was an inside job, but I must say, the location makes me feel like it could have easily been a stranger. The house, being situated at the end of 12th st with the empty parking lot next door kind of seems like an easy target. also it is so close to Broadway that anyone walking by regularly could have seen Isabel and maybe become infatuated. Also, I personally don't think the break-in at Snyder and Cataling Hwy is related...that area is pretty far out - almost rural- def not metro like BW/Craycroft

Frankly, I think it would make it worse. These parents are damned either way, imo.

It would just create more fodder.

I had a feeling this may have been the reason why they have not been back before the press. I am sure either LE is telling them or their friends are telling them about the chatter against them on the internet and even on the nightly talk shows.

imo

I agree.. I lived in Tucson for 3 years when husband was stationed at DM.. and it seemed to me, TPD was on the ball. Once, I was cutting through Langley Ave to go to Park Place Mall.. and got a phone call I had to take, so I pulled over at parking area by Palo Verde Park. I wasnt there even 5 minutes before a police car stopped and checked on me to make sure I was okay (and most likely to make sure I wasnt up to no good) I think they do a fine job.. especially considering all the calls they must get. Another thing I thought about.. if I am remembering correctly, Border patrol and/or TPD helicopters fly over the area all the time..

I get the same feeling driving by. There is just so much going on around there, anyone could be stalking her and you'd never know. :(
