Does anyone have a link to yesterday's news story which stated LE is now going to be interviewing the Celis boys' schoolmates to see if they were posting anything unusual on social media or talking of anything unusual in the week before Isabel went missing???

TIA, I can't find it.

I haven't seen a link about this, but maybe someone else has. On last night's Nancy Grace, her producer, Greg, said that LE is talking to Isa's classmates and her brothers' classmates, but since it's coming from NG and not directly from LE, I didn't place a lot of weight on it.

It seems to me that it would be SOP to talk to the family's friends and acquaintances about the week leading up to Isa's disappearance. JMO

But notice LE won't go on the record and officially clear the parents. Mixed signals IMO.

Sadly, perhaps they are unable to. MOO

I found was the WS member had posted, of which, might be during the presser, but not sure.

Thank you for finding this. It was from the NG show. I will find the link to her show last night and post.

If someone restricts their media consumption only to press conferences, they might miss things. For instance, it is ABC news that is reporting that LE is awaiting the return of forensic tests.

Is this what you read by another member?

"Greg says LE has turned their focus to the children's classmates and friends to find out what they may have said over text message and how the family had been the week before Isa vanished.

Greg says Isa's brothers were interviewed by police."

Thanks, Patty! I was live transcribing NG. Greg didn't seem to have any specifics about interviews that may or may not have been done.

bbm: just my opinion but I think within the next few days (when it hits around the two week mark) we will start hearing that some forensics are back and may start to see more movement in the case

Exactly. Kidnappings are rare, but it is a huge injustice to disbelieve in them due to dogs or an amount of people. Stuff happens...

I couldn't agree more! I watch my child like a hawk. Sadly, she is not afforded many of the freedoms I enjoyed at her age simply because the world has become less safe for children or maybe just that we, as parents are more aware.

I also rode my bike without a helmet, played on metal playground equipment with no "safety surfacing" beneath. And my parents were GREAT parents, but we now know a little more about keeping our kids safe.

In that same vein, even as I teach my child about "stranger danger", I probably stress even more the importance of what is and is not appropriate behavior from the people she KNOWS. We teach our children to be polite and respectful and when a relative or adult in a trusted position is abusing a child, they are hesitant to speak out because this is someone known and trusted by the family.

It is really important to not ignore ANY possibilities when it comes to our kids. Yes, ANYTHING can happen, and horrifically, has, but when we know that most children suffer at the hands of trusted adults and not bushy haired strangers, you have to put the emphasis on what is more likely to occur.

Again, not disregarding anything, just placing the focus on the more prevalent danger. And I sincerely hope that I am wrong about Isa's parents and that she is found safe. I would be over the moon to have my gut be wrong!

IMHO.

Also, the bashing on NG last night was too much to handle. I don't like the show but the idea that she and her producers flat-out make stuff up is, to me, beyond the pale.

This show gets big ratings, and as a result, LE no doubt responds to calls from them. I used to work in the media, and, yeah, things have deteriorated, but not to the point where they're making things up night after night, day after day.

SOmething to remember is reporters all have contacts. They have sources. Things are said off the record ALL THE TIME to reporters. Sometimes they'll say it's ok to run with something but not identify them by name, thus "sources." But the idea that they need to make stuff up constantly is just not true. They already have plenty to work with.

I sure hope so. It took a full month in the Sierra LaMar case to hear that any forensic results were in.

I'm not so sure that's mixed signals. And I;m also not sure how they can clear the parents, even if they don't seriously suspect them, if they have little info. to work with. But I have no idea what they think or what they have.

I thought the daily briefings would continue until the end of the week, but it sounds that's not going to happen.

If Isabel's parents want to do everything possible to find their daughter, they need to speak to the media. I don't recall any other parents or family members who didn't make every effort to do what is necessary to locate their missing child. There has to be a reason why Mr. and Mrs. Celis won't talk to the media. What are they afraid of, or what are they hiding? :moo:

Many parents have refused to talk to the media. Most have been hiding something but not all. Like Emmett Trapp's mom.

I am glad to hear they are requesting video from the softball game, but wondering why it is taking so long? Surely if I were a parent videoing my child at a softball game and another child was abducted that very night (who was at the softball game), I would have been calling the police that very day and offering the video. Maybe the perp is on video - for !*(*(!*#&#^! sake, it has been over a week!

I am still of the opinion that whoever has her, watched her, most likely at her softball game, and became obsessed. my goodness, put a move on already!!!

Yeah, this really astounds me. In this day and age, you better know parents were videotaping at some point that day. So many people have video cameras on their phones. Yet, they have to be systematically tracked down? They don't call in right away? WTH?

Once again, I'll take owership of that as an answer as to why or how the family could be involved. I also said that perhaps something happened in the home that led to her being harmed.

I think the family is involved - I don't know how or why - but I do find it very interesting that LE said yesterday that they were now going to be talking to the Celis boys to see if they were acting any differently in the week leading up to their sister's dissappearance.

How come I can't have that opinion without being attacked?

I think she was just indicating what the buzz is about what police feel. It's not a personal attack.

And no one is saying that people can't have differing opinions about this case. Of course we have differing opinions. But every theory is going to be weighed and critiqued. That's not an attack, IMO. It's evaluation.

Also, LE mentioned wanting videos from the Little League game last week...today he just said they still want them. So if they got any, they either were not helpful or want more to back up anything seen on them, IMO.

He stated he had not received any at all to date, IIRC.

IMO, I think, if we post stuff that was reported on/by Nancy Grace, then perhaps we should reference it came from Nancy's show.

I look at it this way, LE would have told the media, they are doing this, or that etc., rather then it showing up on Nancy Grace and scrambling for the info, when LE has press conferences and basically say nothing.

I dont think NG is making stuff up, I think she hears rumors and states them without checking authenticity. When I watched her during the Caley Anthony stuff, you really said alot of things that turned out to not be true. So I think that is where the misinformation comes from. JMO :)

I like to watch her to hear stuff that others arent saying, but I dont necessarily take it as truth.

I think Mark Klaas is going to be on per his FB page. I respect his insight. jmo

Ohhhhhhhhhhh yeeaaahhh, I forgot, this is the Bash NG thread. But reference her every other page, lol.

FWIW NG's show is not the ratings monster some people believe...less than 1 million, in fact more like 1/2 million on average, with the exception during the Casey Anthony trial...most big cites get that or close to that on local news...JMO

peeps.. if you want to complain about Nancy Grace take it to the basement. :nurse:

I was only watching NG last night to hear what Marc Klaas had to say. The show was taped before yesterday's presser so it was outdated before it even aired.

It's called sources, that what makes the media wheel turn. There would be no news without them.
