I can only hope they have agreed to testify against the "bigger fish" in this case, in exchange for such sweet deals. :gaah:

I don't know understand the need for such maneuvering, when it comes to these two defendants (NF & JM) the cases seemed solid IMO). What we still don't know, because so little pre-trial discovery has been revealed, is where things stand against JR, TG & RF. I hope the testimony of NF and JM isn't needed to make the case against them, but I'm not the DA.

All I can do is have faith that this strategy was worth it. But I must day, at this moment, it feels awful. I want the evidence to be strong enough that deals aren't necessary. I want everyone to pay the maximum. :furious:

I hold onto that hope for the remaining, un-sentenced/accused in this case.

the silence has been deafening.....couldn't find anything about the hearings this week in MSM and I do believe JR was to have had a hearing/court date as well but nothing in the news

If I remember correctly, kiting a check means writing checks between accounts and then writing a bad check before the others clear. IOW, trying to hide insufficient funds.

You're right about what kiting checks means, but in a correctionAl setting a "kite" is a written request for something. If you Google "what is a jail kite" you can see some info, but that's the basic premise.

So he must be asking for something only the judge can approve rather than jail staff.

The medical examiner ruled Grogan-Cannella’s death was from asphyxia due to strangulation.

The eight-page autopsy report outlined the findings of Mohave County Medical Examiner Rexene Worrell, who performed the autopsy Sept. 4...

The autopsy did not specifically address the possibility or likelihood of sexual assault.

Waiting for the DNA results but don't know what to think after reading the report. Sounds more like older injuries from SA.
If it turns out Rector is not charged with SA or attempted SA I can't fathom a motive even though I hope she wasn't abused in that way.

I have questioned if there was past abuse for a while, I don't know if anyone else saw, but it was said on one of the FB groups, and whoever said it posted what was found during the autopsy, and this was weeks ago, possibly as far back as October and I have to say, it is RUMOUR but they said exactly what has now been stated in MSM!!

After a status conference Tuesday, an Oct. 16 trial date was set.

Oh, thank you for the info! I just Googled it and yep, as you say it's just a written request. Silly of me.

Interesting story but a little weird IMO.

Bullhead City residents Virgil and Peggy Sossman learned just how far the story of Isabella Grogan-Cannella has spread. A few weeks ago they received a package from a man in Australia. Inside were two hand-painted aboriginal message rocks he wanted placed at the foot of the Bella’s Way sign in Rotary Park. He noted that one rock was from himself and one from his deceased wife.
