Janet Castrejon disappeared the afternoon of June 19, 2015, from a camping area in the Chiricahua Mountains in southern Arizona, where she was spending the weekend with her family. Janet and her mother had gone to mail a letter at the pay station not far from where they parked their camper, and stopped to use the restroom, family members said. Janet was going to wait outside, but when her mother came out of the bathroom, Janet was gone. Janet had suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident in 1988 and, as a result, family members said, she has a hard time remembering simple things and has poor vision. Her family has spent the past year and a half desperately searching for her.

I think she was lost, but just not found when searchers looked. Everyone says it's much harder on find a body than you'd think. This seems to be the case here. I agree with posters who said if the Brittany Alert would have in place, things might have gone differently in the beginning. I don't think her parents have anything to do with it, nor do I think she would be a good candidate for trafficking. Someone said they thought it would take a long time to see her disabilities if she was trafficked, but a mountain is quite literally the worst place to both blind and with an impaired memory... How patient do you think a trafficker would be once she made a left when she was told to make a left? Family already said people didn't believe her when she said she was that disabled..

The Pima County Attorney's office is also offering $2,500 for any information that leads to Janet's whereabouts.

Bumping for Janet.

Janet was morbidly obese. She couldn't have walked far in the mountainous, rocky terrain. Why has no one has ever found any of her clothing or remains near the site where she allegedly disappeared?

How tragic. I’m glad her family finally has an answer though. Rest In Peace Janet.
