Good point, but I wish I could figure out what she needed them for. I don't think she could have used them for school registration. I think all Arizona schools require a certified copy. Here's an (unofficial) article from azcentral that says what is required for kindergarten registration, "Birth certificate or other legal document: This includes an original birth certificate, original baptismal record, refugee card, passport, Department of Economic Security or court papers assigning custody. Divorced, separated or other legal guardians are responsible for providing GESD with the necessary legal custody papers."

Tempe schools says much the same thing, a certified birth certificate:

(I would have posted the official link to the school district closest to jerice, but I kept running into Glendales that aren't in Arizona.)

The AZ Central link is actually for the Glendale Elem. School District.![]()
Maasen thinks they don't have enough to arrest his client? Hmmn, it's my impression that he hasn't been told a single detail about the investigation. Isn't that what he has been whining about?Arrest coming in Jhessye Shockley case
GLENDALE -- Police say they are getting closer to making an arrest in the disappearance and presumed death of Jhessye Shockley, the 5-year-old Glendale girl who vanished in October.

Shirley...Was her race an issue when Jhessye was killed and put in the landfill? Or was it just plain old human cruelty that extends beyond racial lines?
It's funny (funny peculiar, not funny ha ha) how she ignores the way Jhessye supposedly ended up in the landfill.
Just blame the people who are planning to search for her so maybe someone will forget who is really to blame.
What the heck?!!! Is that a TYPO?!!!

I don't think so.. I think they mean they aren't going to arrest her this moment... but are making methodical plans to search the place they think she is at in the landfill:
"We are progessing down the path toward making an arrest of the person or persons responsible for Jhessye's death," Glendale Police Sgt Brent Coombs said.
Right now the focus is on laying the groundwork for searching the massive Butterfield Station Landfill near Mobile, south of the Valley.
"We're hopeful that will begin within a matter of days," Coombs said. "We're working closely with the county attorney and we both want the strongest case possible prior to making an arrest.":twocents:
Thanks Nurse, I was being facetious. How could two news stories have such different titles, yet convey the same information?
tlcox, you're right about giving any attention to Shirley, or jerice for that matter. Until Jhessye is found and jerice has been arrested, I'll not mention their names again. This is about finding and bringing her home to Tycora.
