is it just me or do others think there is some whacked out people living in Maricopa County? (I do not mean to offend anyone who lives there, just saying I would be afraid to live there)

I do not see a new court date, anyone know when it is?

BBM The only evidence he could possibly have proving that Jhessye isn't in the landfill -- unless I'm missing something -- would be Jhessye herself. If he could produce a live Jhessye, I don't know of anyone who would object.

I think SWL's new attorney was given 90 days to review the case and get up to speed. Next hearing 7/15. Justice is just so darn slow in coming for Sweet Jhessye!!!!

And shirley? I'm glad that the children are safe from your evil self. I hope to God they can recover, find decent families and write a book exposing you and your hideous daughter for the monsters that you are.

And sweet Jhessye, our beloved little beautiful princess? We love you and are here to ensure that you get the justice you deserve and will always have a place in our hearts that is for you and will always think of you when we see a butterfly.

I hope what Shirley has claimed about the other children is untrue. how sad for thrm. too bsd they are not able to stay together and get the help they desperatly need.

Shirley Johnson told The Republic that the Arizona Attorney General’s office had argued in Maricopa County Juvenile Court during a months-long tug-of-war over the children that she was unable to protect them from their mother Jerice Hunter, who is in jail awaiting trial in the death of her daughter Jhessye, who authorities believe was murdered.

Hunter’s cousin Lisa Vance, who helped raise Jhessye while Hunter was in prison, said she told court officials that Johnson should not have custody of the children. Vance said that the oldest child had accused the grandmother of being physically abusive and that she did not want to return to her home.

Shirley clearly has mental issues, similar to those of SWL (to put it kindly). I am so thankful that the AGO's Office and Lisa stepped up to bat for these children.

I do not trust anything Shirley says regarding the care and treatment of the children.

We knew about the emotional state of the the oldest child long ago. I pray that she and her siblings receive help and can overcome the nightmare they have lived this far. Please Lord, protect them. Put them in a loving home, with people who can nurture them and show them a different way to live their lives. Make this trial a speedy process, so they can close that door and begin to heal.

I was born in Arizona, have lived in Maricopa County most of my adult life, and I have to say that you are right about the "whacked out people". Although we do have our own share of home-grown crazies, we also attract a ton of losers and trouble-makers that come here because they think a geographical cure will get rid of all their problems. They don't realize that they are their own worst enemy, so they fall back into their old patterns, and their issues are compounded because they frustrated that they aren't living "happily ever after".

Having said all that, I can't imagine living anyplace else. I love it here, and for the most part, I've learned how to recognize and avoid scorpions, snakes and "whacked out people".

As I watched the Phoenix local news last night, I wondered how many of the trial spectators camped outside the Maricopa County Court building would be around when it is time for sweet little Jhessye to receive some measure of justice when Jerice is tried?
I am really embarrassed by my fellow Arizonans right now. I guess its because they all seem to be hanging on every word in the Arias trial, but not one in a thousand would know who Jhessye Shockley is.
