LVD says it was ruled self-defense, that Alex died of a blood clot, and that she's the only one charged.

Lots of sustained objections, jury to disregard.

"It's a family tragedy, not a crime."

And with that, opening statements are done.
If it were self-defense, and who ruled that??? No Jury, then she wouldn't be charged with murder, and you can't charge a dead man.

LVD poses against the vehicle, smiles aplenty at the officer. Doesn't see Charles, doesn't ask about Charles, no reaction apparently to seeing the empty ambulance depart.

Thru her questions, LVD stresses how calm the scene was. Asks officer whether it would be crazy (my word) if she was hysterical if everyone was calm. State objects. Sustained.

No CPR and no call to 911..... for 47 minutes.

Alex wasn't interested in life saving measures.

47 minutes later, it was too late for anyone to bother with CPR.

Self-defense but no one thought 911 should be called?

46 minutes of staging.

JMO
And making sure that he bled out. No need for CPR at that point.

IMO she's insinuating that nobody thought it was murder from the start and that due to a police conspiracy they changed their minds later.

Watching the second officer's bodycam.

Alex, on the curb.

LVD and Tylee park and start across the street, office flags them to stay on the other side of the street.

My observation: LVD doesn't seem to upset, doesn't seem affected by all the emergency vehicles. And notably no husband....

Inn't she at all curious?

Pesky foreknowledge.

JMO
I really hope that the prosecution shows the jury the "Sorry neighbors" hair twirling and giggling clip.

Officer asked Alex three times if he needed medical attention.

LVD stresses EMT was right there.

LVD emphasizes nonchalant. Maybe it was Alex's normal demeanor to be nonchalant so if he was nonchalant....

Today's word salad brought to you by LVD.

It's called doing a homicide investigation. The facts aren't always obvious at the moment they inspect the crime scene.

Just did. But it was quick and quiet. I hope the jury caught it.

And it is also normal for Lori to laugh when her husband has just been killed.

My own sidebar: LVD is defending herself against conspiracy to commit murder of her 4th husband and she's yukking it up with the officer on the stand, funny funny how hot it was that day.

Jury might find her demeanor to be light and friendly (flirty?) but IMO they aren't going to like the stark contrast with super chill LVD and a murder scene, where he husband is dead.

This won't be the  first  second third time the judge admonishes LVD from testifying.

third  fourth  fifth

LVD soldiers on violating hearsay rules.

LVD should be getting frustrated about now...

IMO:
One of the dumbest things yet to come out of her mouth.

It obviously didn't cross LVD's mind that the scene was filled with first responders.
She was the dead victim's wife.

imo

Juror questions are being asked, but we don't learn what they are.

My notes on Krautheim (Chandler PD)'s testimony (part 1, before the break)
- LVD tries to convince the jury that, bc everyone else (who deal with this sort of thing daily as professionals, and to whom CV is a stranger) was calm, that her (his WIFE) being hysterical would have been "out of character"... just shows to me that she knows she was putting on an act at that point
- Does LVD not know what "nonchalant" means?
- Getting kind of sick of LVD testifying in her questions
- Why does it matter how hot it was that day?
- "It says that it 'appeared to be blood.' Did you think it was something other than blood?" WHUuu?

It's so VERY apparent that LVD is not actually a lawyer and has no idea what she's doing. Her questioning is going absolutely nowhere and adding nothing.

Prosecutor Treena Kay’s opening statements today :

Watching this now. Is it me or in my head that at times it sounds like you hear some ominous music playing in the back ground?
