Oh, my.
LVD has a legal fan, praising her delivery.

'PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An attorney who’s not connected to the case says Lori Vallow Daybell is faring better than some lawyers do in court as she represents herself for the 2019 murder of her former husband."

Kolsrud said Daybell is likely to do well, resonating with the jurors.

“The jurors are going to see an attractive woman who’s very smart, she’s meticulous, and she may be sympathetic,” he said. “The fact that she’s representing herself is a wild card in this case that, you know, we’ll see how effective it is once the jury makes their verdict.”

That jury not knowing anything about Daybell’s history and prior convictions is important for an impartial decision.

“If they find out that Lori Vallow (Daybell) was already convicted of murder in Idaho under similarly situated circumstances, it’s really going to prejudice the jury against her,” Kolsrud said."

Maybe by "better than some lawyers" they have her former attorney MM in mind. He would have made a circus out of the trial.

I thought this would be more interesting but she is boring me with these dumb unnecessary questions.

As a juror, I would have absolutely written a question about Idaho. Its shocking what information is held back from jurors, and while I get it, it seems so wrong. The case for Charles was absolutely brought into the Idaho cases because they were so intertwined, and it's hard to see it not being the same vice versa. I always feel for the jurors who have to give so much of their lives to these cases but I feel even more for these jurors who have so much pertinent information being held back from them.
I could not agree more. LVD and CV had an intact family for over 12 years. CV was a protector of JJ and Tylee and that was clearly evident in his concern when LVD disappeared for several weeks. IMO, part of the motive for murdering CV was to remove him as a protective barrier so that JJ and Tylee could also be eliminated (while the funds supporting them were to be continued).

Absent the financial motives AND CV as protector of the children, LVD could simply have left CV, left JJ with him (as she had done when she disappeared for weeks), left Tylee with relatives, and started her life-ever-after with Chad as other deadbeat mothers have done. But that would have cost her ALL the financial rewards she hoped to gain - the life insurance on CV (which she thought she was still beneficiary of), the survivor SS for Tylee, the survivor SS for JJ, and the SS disability caretaking income for JJ. And it would have cost her the "great mother" reputation she seemed to enjoy within her larger extended family and among some friends.

CV had to go as the first domino, the fall of which all the other planned falling-dominos-to-come depended!

They are integrally intertwined.

This is crazy… what a narcissistic megalomaniac she is! She thinks she is the hot stuff… I can’t stand her! Don’t know how anybody could!

I've had the same thought. It's absolutely laborious how she's going over the same info again and again, and I can't for the life of me figure out what she's driving at (currently with where the projectile ended up -- Does she really just not understand physics?)

(WHY is she asking if she or Tylee were swabbed for gunshot residue? Why would you even introduce the idea into the jurors' minds that she could have been the one to shoot him directly?)

Oh gosh Nancy Jo Hancock is on the stand next. Wish I could fast forward.

When we get to her witnesses, I will be curious to see how many she tries to question through the portal.

Oh is she trying to imply Tylee shot CV???

OMG, we are 5 minutes into testimony, and Lori already has me so irritated I can't take it.
I am deliberately not watching this one because I know I couldn't listen to her for long without being incandescently angry or triggered so badly I'd be dissociated like hell for the rest of the day.

I had my fill of that particular presentation of person by the time I turned eighteen and left the church, and none of those women actually killed anyone, let alone their own kids.

MOO

In response to LVD's question whether she and Tylee had been tested for GSR, I know this witness had to just stick to the facts (he didn't know). But I hope someone reminds the jury that it doesn't matter which conspirator shot the gun; the overt act by any one of the conspirators in furtherance of the plan to murder CV would justify conviction for conspiracy to murder.

I suppose she may somehow try to blame Tylee as the shooter of CV in self-defense or in defense of her mother or uncle, but that is NOT the story that LVD told LE on the day of the shooting. And I cannot imagine how she would get that story into evidence except as loose suggestion through her questions.

All the cases were about the money first. Without the blood money Lori and Chad could only dream about prancing in Hawaii. Getting a job and working hard wasn't an option to them.

I still can’t quite get over LVD’s opening statement when she kept saying, “The evidence will show…”.
All I could think of was how is evidence going to show anything since everybody that was present that day is dead, except for her.

This is just painful.
IMO.

So much about LVD annoys me but another annoyance is how she was found incompetent for a time in her Idaho trial yet can now be competent to lead her own defense. Give me a break.

I think it comes down to: sociopathy and narcissism do not equate with incompetence and a master narcissist can effectively manipulate her attorney, the court, and some who practice in the mental health field (ETA: at least for a while).

So odd, LVD questioning this witness who was dating CV at the time he was murdered.

Watching the live stream and Lori cross examining Nancy Jo.
It's going to be a fiery afternoon!

Just checking in here on everyone's posts on how it's going over there, boy oh boy. Justice for CV cannot come soon enough, that's obvious. The poor judge must need a big glass of scotch after these sessions I am imagining!

She is really being territorial over Charles!
