Thinking about the questions LVD asked NJ to inquire about exactly what information about LVD that CV might have shared with NJ.

Lori grabbed Charles' phone the morning of July 11 and took it with her when she left in his rental car with Tylee, JJ, and JJ's service dog, Bailey. And we've learned that at least Tylee knew CV's passcode to get into his phone.

Surely LVD must have read the text messages between CV and NJ after she left the home after CV was shot until she returned to the scene roughly an hour later. So LVD KNOWS how late into the evening NJ and CV kept texting with each other after their date on July 10. And she KNOWS the details about what CV said about her (LVD) in those texts. The only mystery is that LVD cannot know what CV shared in phone conversations as CV's phone would only have the data about the call (when placed/ended, to/from whom, length of call).

My guess is that because NJ and/or CV mentioned Adam in those texts (because CV had told NJ he was meeting with Adam the next day, and may also have shared more about Adam), LVD has assumed that NJ was herself acquainted with Adam.

Also from Adam's testimony the texts he sent CV at 8 something the morning he was killed were never answered by CV and were first read at 12 something pm that day.

Reading the live texts, it’s so easy to envision LVD trying to counter Kay’s testimony and giving up so much but it looks like we are near the end of the day and I am betting if she does decide to cross examine that she gets the night to cool off AGAIN. That seems to go her way often. I want to see her cross examine in the heat of the moment!

And both our experiences are valid.

My point is that as much as the church presents itself as a monolith of belief, it isn't, even in the mainstream. And when you get offshoots like Lori and her ilk, it can metamorphosise into something different very quickly.

Main stream LDS, no way. Already on the "fringe", they are halfway there. We had an experience similar to that, at an MLM meeting in SLC.

It was an interesting encounter. My ex went down that path, and I left.

There's a fourth person whose prints could be on the bat. We know from her videoed statement to the police, Tylee was the one originally holding the bat. She said that she emerged from her bedroom holding it when the argument got heated, if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, unless her prints were taken as part of a school safety drive, there would be no way of matching her prints if any were found on the bat that didn't match Alex, Lori, or Charles.

I’m hoping the State can bring in the texts of the affair and the previous deaths. We all know Lori and Chad ordered Alex to kill Charles because we have followed from day one.
But right now, I don’t see how the prosecution has brought Lori into the conspiracy to kill Charles. To begin with, Chandler PD blew this case and now it appears to me that the prosecution isn’t even prepared.
Does anyone else doubt they will get a conviction?
And Melani Pawlowski and Melanie Gibb and ZulemaPastenes, why aren’t they testifying? Makes no sense!

Yeah.

I left the church when I came of age. I live with my mother and her friend/colleague who are both active LDS. One of my uncles is way, way out there in believing ALL the conspiracies. It's hard to tell with him what is just extreme belief and if, as I suspect, there's a dollop of undiagnosed mental illness in there. People think that there's the mainstream and the extremists and they're separate, but just in my own small family there are all kinds of degrees.

Among the regular LDS I went to church with, one was a herbalist by profession, and I remember being dosed with her foul potions from the age of five by my mother to 'cure' my anxiety (didn't work). Another did crystal and massage therapy. My grandmother was convinced she was psychic (could foresee deaths), and hated it so much she got a priesthood blessing to get rid of it. I couldn't tell you how many I heard relate prophetic dreams or visions. I could go on. And these weren't fringe members. For every extreme prepper there are dozens of LDS who are mainstream who have a quirk but align with doctrine otherwise. And all it takes is exposure to the right media, to a conversation, to a convention where the ideas are a little more fringe, and those LDS who have a little quirk outside the strict doctrine might find themselves seduced in that direction. They might feel seen and accepted and even love bombed. That's the power of the early stages of cultish thinking. And that's the danger when the ones doing the seducing aren't harmless oddballs, but are people like Chad and Lori.

We have not yet seen texts from the downloads of electronics. I expect, based on the prosecutor’s opening statement, that they are coming and they will include the texts exchanged between Chad and Lori in which Lori refers to “getting rid of Ned” or “now that we’ve gotten rid of Ned” and also the text in which she refers to the changed beneficiary form and that she will still be getting the $4,000 in monthly SS benefits (indicating that she and Chad had discussed the financial things before).

Those will be damning.

I do not understand how the Chandler PD had not developed a case before the explosion of news in Idaho about the two missing kids. I remember from the Idaho trial that police body cams showed officers expressing doubts about the reliability of AC’s claims about what happened based on CV’s body and other items of evidence in the room where his body was. And certainly LVD’s behavior - leaving the scene for an hour or so and returning and her demeanor overall - would generate reasonable concerns. The forensics relating to the shots see to indicate that work was thorough and also would generate concerns.

(ETA: I could see one counter to some of those concerns being that this was a separated and potentially divorcing couple. LE is likely accustomed to seeing some hostile behavior in such situations, so they might explain away LVD’s demeanor to those circumstances. But trajectory of shots, evidence that doesn’t match the stories, the departure - with CV’s phone and vehicle - from the scene. One would think those would all weigh heavily in favor of thorough investigation.)

So what was happening between July and December 2019? Was the ball dropped, or was the investigating quietly unfolding, and if so, why wasn’t anyone in LE watching LVD and AC? Had LE dropped the ball or had the Maricopa prosecutors done so? And if so, why?

The prosecution made a big deal in the opening statement about how LVD wanted to be with CD and wanted the money to continue the lifestyle CV had provided her, so I'll bet there's a lot more coming about the affair, since up until this point, they've barely mentioned CD at all.

I think the prosecution has done a great job thus far setting up WHAT has happened; I expect them now to be moving into more evidence pointing to WHY it happened.

Right after the prosecutor tells KW /court she has no further questions and the judge says "okay cross" KW while staring ( at LVD?) picks up the bottle of water and before taking a sip waiting for LVD says under her breath "oh, boy"

It was louder on my TV then LT but it's there.
LVD certainly didn't want to tangle with CV's beloved sister.
