My thoughts on today…..Someone may have said some or all of this…i couldn’t watch earlier in the day and haven’t read all the posts so I apologize if it’s been said. I’m really not trying to plagiarize
1) Why didn’t she put in her request to see a doctor or nurse or whatever is meant by tank orders - is that what the judge called it? Anyway why didn’t she do that Friday instead of waiting until Sunday?
2) If LVD told her standby counsel on Sun morning, did they inform the judge yesterday or did he just hear of it this morning? I know someone said he was told yesterday but brought her in today to see for himself but I can’t really see him bringing those 50 potential jurors in this morning just so he could see LVD for himself if he really was informed yesterday. I would think he would have asked court officers to come in on Sun afternoon and make some phone calls to the potential jurors and maybe suggested they call the court by 11am and let them come in at 1pm if jury selection was going to proceed. So unless I missed something that was said about it, I’m thinking that the standby attorney and legal assistant or whoever LVD told just said well it’s the weekend and didn’t bother to notify the judge until this morning which has me scratching my head since he said on Friday to let them know sooner rather than later which implied to me that he would prefer not to have to bring the remaining jury pool in today if jury selection wasn’t going to happen.
3) I’m guessing…but…if LVD’s standby counsel was co-counsel instead of just standby, wouldn’t he have been able to insist they proceed with jury selection without her?
4) LVD’s comment about maybe having fever makes no sense to me as in a post covid world those who transported her to court this morning - who drug her out of her sick bed and made her get in a wheel chair and go to court - would have insisted that the jail take 5 seconds and check her temp before they touched her. I was so wishing the judge would have said, hey I have an instant read thermometer right here, let’s just check that.
5) If a defendant who was not representing themselves was sick on a court day and didn’t want to go, wouldn’t a nurse or someone at the jail have to verify that for the court? We have a very small jail in our very small county where I live and they don’t have a nurse on staff but would be required to have one from the hospital or an EMT from the fire department or ambulance company come over and evaluate the inmate and make a report to the judge detailing symptoms observed as well as those claimed by the inmate and providing temp & bp if nothing else. And if the nurse or EMT thought the claim was legit then the judge would either proceed with the attorney’s or grant a continuance but in the meantime the jail would either take the inmate to the ER or have a doctor come to the jail if one was available. Do they not do anything like that in AZ?
6) I do not doubt she has a cold or is “sick” to some degree - though I suspect she was exaggerating - but I can’t find the least bit of sympathy for her because I cannot get past the condition of the remains of her children. I’m a Christian and it is very hard for me to say I can’t find any sympathy or compassion for someone but I really can’t feel sorry for evil.
7) I do not see why she couldn’t have just let the jury be questioned for things like hardships and scheduling conflicts or prior knowledge or whatever and gotten that part out of the way since she was already at the court or if she really thought she felt that bad to let her standby counsel handle that part. I didn’t think the judge was asking her to let them question the jurors that made it past that point but only to be present while he questioned them on those basic things. Am I wrong about how that works? Does attorney questioning of jurors have to be at the same time they are excusing for hardships and such?
8) Do you think the standby counsel really was uncomfortable doing a portion of jury selection for her or do you think she was the one who was uncomfortable with it? Or do you think they were uncomfortable not because they felt they shouldn’t but because they just don’t want to have anything more to do with LVD than is absolutely necessary in their role already?
Sorry this is so lengthy but I can’t talk about this stuff with my family or friends as none of them even know who LVD is

So my fellow WSers what are your thoughts on any of these points?
