PHOENIX (KIFI) - Sixteen jurors were selected for the murder conspiracy trial of Lori Vallow Daybell on Wednesday.

The process was delayed twice, as Lori claimed she was sick.

The jury consists of eight men and eight women sworn in on Wednesday afternoon. The 16 jurors include four alternate jurors.

Opening statements are scheduled to begin Thursday morning.

If she's faking bring sick or exaggerating symptoms, is this a ploy to force the judge to re-instate her counsel so she can be released from representing herself without having to say so? Blame it on the judge do later she can claim he overrode her right to represent herself?

It's wise always to question her words, actions and motives.

I don't think that can happen. The judge isn't going to re-instate her counsel unless she says so. That's why he's forcing her to prove that she's sick, i.e. it's time to bring a doctor's note if you're really sick. Sounds like aside from a possible headache, that she wasn't that ill. The jailhouse can dole her out headache meds- those aren't illegal drugs.

My heart has always gone out to Brandon. His wife basically wanted a divorce so she could be part of the cult. She knew Brandon and two of their children were considered dark by Chad. She is guilty of conspiracy to murder Brandon. He must have nightmares and tears beyond what he can understand. He needs justice!

*Trial set to begin (@ 10am AZT) – AZ – Brandon Boudreaux (34/now 40) attempted murder on Oct. 2, 2019 in Gilbert, AZ. *Lori Norene Vallow (46 @ time of crime/49/now 51) indicted (2/24/22), charged & arraigned (12/7/23) with 1 count of 1st degree premeditated attempted murder. Plead not guilty. Held without bond. Maricopa County
Jury selection began on 5/30/25 & ended 6/4/25. Jury consists of 12 jurors & 4 alternates [8 women & 8 men].

6/4/25 Docket Update: Order for Medical exam of defendant. It would be beneficial to the parties & the Court to have some objective measures of the extent of the Defendant's illness. The Court requests MCSO direct qualified medical personnel to assess the Defendant within the next 24 hours. The Court is not requiring MCSO to divulge any HIPPA protected information. However, Ms. Daybell may be required to produce some form of objective information if she is seeking any continuance beyond Wednesday, June 4, 2025. IT IS ORDERED waiving any co-pay to the extent there may be a co-pay from the Defendant required. 6/4/25 Wednesday, Jury Selection Day 2: In-person session with 67 potential jurors. First group of 6 potential jurors are questioned by the Judge, Prosecutors & Defense. 40-45 potential jurors left in the pool for the afternoon session. Court will begin Friday, 6/6/25 at 9am. Have selected the jury - 8 women & 8 men. All sworn in by Clerk. Clerk read the charging docuent Daybell is accused of. Normal scheduled should be 10:30am to 4:30pm. Lunch breaks will be 12 to 1 or 1:30pm. Tomorrow & Friday are exceptions with earlier starts because they are behind. Judge read the jury instructions. Opening statements start tomorrow. The trial is expected to last no later than 6/23/25.
Trial begins on Thursday, 6/5/25 with opening statements @ 10am.
AZ – Charles Vallow (62) shot & killed on July 11, 2019 in Chandler, AZ. *Lori Norene Daybell-Vallow - Trial of Charles began on 4/7/25 & ended 4/22/25 with GUILTY of all charges. Will be sentenced after Boudreaux trial.
5/29/25 Docket update: Charles: State's motion to file juror affidavit in support of State's response to motion for new trial under seal.
ID – Vallow found guilty of all charges & sentenced to 3 consecutive life sentences without parole on 7/31/23.
