In this case the motive was hidden, but it's good that the prosecutor emphasized that there were four people joined in the conspiracy, otherwise the jurors would be wondering about Melani's and Chad's roles.

Did Treena mention multiple investigations? Can Melani be charged for more than just Brandon's case? With Chad's and Lori's convictions, she probably doesn't have any bargaining chips left. Did she have immunity in the first place?
