6/12/25 Docket update: Judge Beresky has issued an order denying that last motion to dismiss. It's a satisfying read. He calls her out for making up court names, and for malingering. The Court has received & reviewed the Defendant's "Motion to Dismiss Abuse of Discretion" filed with the Clerk of the Court on June 9, 2025. IT IS ORDERED DENYING the Defendant's request for oral argument on this issue. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED DENYING the Defendant's Motion to Dismiss. See link for document: https://courtminutes.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov/docs/Criminal/062025/m11369994.pdf
6/12/25 Docket update: Minute Order. It is Ordered authorizing the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to transport defendant to court using any means necessary to include force to secure the attendance of defendant for her trial on 6/12/25 by Judge Justin Beresky. See document link: https://courtminutes.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov/docs/Criminal/062025/m11373549.pdf
6/12/25 Thursday, Trial Day 6: Jury deliberations continues. And have a verdict @ ~10:30am. Verdict: GUILTY!
Judge polls the jurors. They all say "yes". Judge talks about the aggravation phase. Daybll has stipulated to them [a dangerous offense], but says even though she objects to an aggravator phase. Daybell ask if she can waive her pre-sentence report. Judge says "no!", he will have pre sentence report on both cases prepared. Judge Beresky sets sentencing hearing on 7/25/25 @ 9am (until noon). Daybell has 30 days to be transported back to Idaho. Lori wants to get back to Idaho, so Kay will reach out to the extradictions people & coordinate an interstate transport.
6/20/25 Docket update: Notice of sealed jury questionnaires. 6/23/25 Docket update: Motion for new trial filed by defendant. [Daybell claims a 4th amendment violation due to her illness, "lack of impartiality from Judge Beresky" & "abuse of discretion" from the Judge]. See post #465, page 24, thread #6 for document info.
6/24/25 Docket update: State's Motion for defendant's correctional health services records filed. 6/26/25 Docket update: Minute entry: The Court received an email from the Court's Public Info Officer regarding a camera request for sentencing. The Court affirms the existing Order regarding the use of a single camera feed & will impose a 5-minute delay of any broadcasting of sentencing. 6/30/25 Docket update: State's motion to file response to Motion for New Trial under seal.
7/10/25 Docket update: Minute entry. The Court is in receipt of & has considered the State's request to file response to motion for new trial under seal-granted. Link: https://courtminutes.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov/docs/Criminal/072025/m11402869.pdf
7/10/25 Docket update: PPM – Pro Per Motion/Notice/Mail filed by defendant. Reply to State's Response to Defendant’s Motion for New Trial. Daybell continues to fight for another trial. In a new handwritten motion, she claims the state illegally obtained her medical records & she was misdiagnosed with a urinary tract infection during her previous trial. Daybell says Judge Beresky ordered antibiotics & that her "misdiagnosis & incomplete (medical) record jeopardized (her) safety & well-being" and violated her rights. [See post #604, page 31, thread 6 for document].
7/14/25 Docket update: Judge Beresky grants State's request to obtain Daybell's medical records from 5/30-6/13/25. Beresky says there was no evidence to support her claim for being too sick to proceed with trial. He also says there's no evidence for specific diagnosis besides Daybell's statements. Correctional Health Services (CBS) shall provide the records to the State within 5 business days of the filing of this Order. [see post #593, page 30, thread 6].
7/15/25 Docket update: Reply to defendant's response to State's motion to file State's response to Motion for New Trial under seal. [see post #622, page 32. thread 6]. MCAO prosecutor Treena Kay says if Daybell objects to the State's response to her request for new trial to be under seal, then the court should make it public-which would reveal personal medical history.
7/18/25 Docket update: State's sentencing memorandum [see post #644 to 647, page 33 for documents]. Prosecutor Treena Kay wrote that the punishment in Arizona for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder is life in prison with the possibility of release after 25 years. The prosecutor asked the judge to hand out consecutive sentences to Daybell.
7/22/25 Update: The Court has received & reviewed the following: Defendant's Motion for New Trial (with attached exhibits) filed June 23, 2025; State's Response to Motion for New Trial filed June 30, 2025; Defendant's Reply to State's Response to Defendant's Motion for New Trial filed July 10, 2025. The Defendant's Motion argues three separate areas she believes warrant a new trial. The Defendant fails to establish any due process violation which would warrant a new trial in this matter. IT IS ORDERED DENYING the Motion for New Trial.

So, this is a new story, LVD came home to find JJ dead, Tylee had killed him, then committed suicide.

Of course, if this happened, you would call your brother and Chad Daybell to bury them both in CD's "Pet Cemetery".

You would understand this if you got on the ship. The good ship lollipop. Dot com.

I don't think she believes any of the nonsense she spews, but what is alarming to me is that I think she thinks she sounds convincing. Delusional. Disordered.

Such a gross reinvention of religion, that somehow she is a demigod helping darks cross over into the light, like she's not a murderer but a savior. She must to think her sing song voice has the power to entrance, that she can intone any stupid thing she can make up and her audience will absorb it like a secret gospel.

She may have gotten bored with suburban housewifery and has decided it's more lively to take this flight of fantasy. I have no patience for it. Her children are dead. So many are dead. Because of a headgame of thrones she's playing out in real life. With real victims.

She is the dark one.

With all respect due to Morrison and Eaton, Briana Whitney is MASTERFUL at interviewing Lori.

I wouldn't expect Lori to respond best to a beautiful, younger woman, but now I wonder if Lori is responding BECAUSE Briana is beautiful. This is not to diminish Briana's professionalism as I hold her interviewing skills in esteem, but I'm trying to see this from Lori's point of view. I think Lori respects beauty.

(And maybe just female beauty because.... Chad.)

Arrived in Phoenix tonight just in time for Lori Vallow Daybell’s sentencing. Despite the devastation Lori caused, I’m grateful for the incredible people I’ve met over the past 6 years. Gerry Vallow will be giving one of the victim impact statements Friday. May justice be served.

The relationships that have formed and the camaraderie surrounding the coverage is not something I recall happening on any other case. Amazing, really.

Lauren is truly an amazing woman besides being a very credible investigative journalist.
It is heartwarming and encouraging seeing how evil has a way of making love and goodness even stronger.

FINALLY a "no holds barred" interviewer yet the outcome was the same, delusions from Lori who makes it up as she goes along.

I don’t blame the interviewers for anything. They are dealing with a nutcase and she can’t be cracked.

I hope my comment didn't come off as blaming! That is the opposite of what I meant, for any of the interviewers.

I didn't take it that way at all.

In the past I've criticized all 3 journalists for giving LD a platform to spew her deluded lies and compared their interviews with her as getting stuck in an endless loop.

That said considering we're dealing with LD again it was good to finally see a journalist who didn't fold and move on to the next question and stayed with the ridiculous and impossible scenario of Tylee having committed suicide etc.
I wouldn't have put it past LD if she cut the video when Brianna's determination to get an answer/explanation didn't stop.

Since this was the last chance for an interview, this time Brianna didn't hold back and asked all the right questions, especially about the children's murders. It took Lori by surprise as she was ready to fill the time with everything else. She thinks she can befriend women the way she collected her cult followers. It's interesting how she threw Alex under the bus to protect Chad. Lori is relatively predictable with her defensive talk. We know who she will blame and when she will invoke a divine plan with her final victory.

Hear ! Hear!
The one thing I don't agree with Brianna about is this is LD's last interview.
Her last interview before her scheduled sentencing hearing today, yes,but far from her last interview.
She has appeals in the works and I'm sure more motions to file and when she needs to hear herself talk again there will be a reporter waiting in the wings.

Maybe Brianna meant it was her last chance to speak with Lori since she's a local reporter in Arizona and Lori will be in Idaho soon. Brianna's beat is in Arizona so she's unlikely to continue covering the case that concludes today in regards to Arizona.

But. then again, Lori talked about meeting Brianna in the afterlife when Brianna would be able to admit Lori is right, so perhaps this wasn't the last interview.

Nate Eaton mentioned on Courtroom Insider yesterday that Lori got in trouble with the jail for asking him to bring M&Ms to his interview (no idea if this was the actual reason). She got her tablet taken away but has it back now. Yesterday she sent Nate a letter. He didn't discuss its contents and hasn't replied to it yet.

LD will also tell Brianna that Jesus said he wants to be the moderator.

"But. then again, Lori talked about meeting Brianna in the afterlife"

LOL!
