*Pretrial Conference Hearing (Charles) (@ 8:30am MST) - AZ – Charles Vallow (62) shot & killed on July 11, 2019 in Chandler, AZ. *Lori Norene Daybell aka Lori Norene Vallow (46 @ time of crime/48/now 51) indicted (6/24/21), charged & arraigned (12/8/23) with 1 count of 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. Held without bond. Maricopa County

The court has received & reviewed the following: Defendant's Motion to Order State to produce discovery of extradition filed 12/16/24; defendant's Motion to Order Maricopa County Sheriff Office [produce] defendant's records filed 12/16/24; MCSO's response to defendant's Motion to Order Maricopa County Sheriff Office [produce] defendant's records filed 12/19/24 & State's request for extension of time to respond to defendant's Motion to Order State to provide discovery of extradition filed 12/19/24. Order granting the State's (MCAO) request to extend time to respond until 1/10/25. As to defendant's Motion to Order Maricopa County Sheriff Office to produce defendant's records. The motion fails to articulate any basis for this suspicion. Motion is likewise overly broad & fails to establish that granting the request would lead to any relevant information. 1/10/25 Update: Judge Justin Beresky asked Lori if Daybell is her legal last name. Lori says it is. Judge Beresky says court paperwork will be changed to Daybell, formerly known as Vallow. Vallow says the Judge has denied every request from the defense. Says we don't know if the State is holding back evidence. Vallow says the State is impeding her from defending herself. Asks the State to "pair down its witness list" & requests all motions be sent to the defendant "in a timely manner." Says she is not getting any documents from the State. Wants to start trial on time without delay on 3/31/25. Prosecutors say the Charles Vallow case will take a couple of weeks, but is not aware of how long defense will take at cross-exam. Judge Beresky asks advisory Counsel to assist Vallow with jury screening process, which they can. Vallow askes for documents to be sent to her investigator Jeff White. Prosecution says the documents are also emailed to Vallow's advisory counsel. Judge tells Vallow to reply to State motions within 10 days. Daybell asked a judge to compel prosecutors to provide her with more evidence in the case, focusing in part on documents related to her extradition from Idaho to Arizona. Judge Justin Beresky denied the motion, saying he did not see how those documents would be relevant to her current case. While in court, Daybell hand-filed two motions requesting additional discovery from prosecutors. Final trial management conference will be on 3/18/25. Vallow asked if both trial dates can be set. Judge Beresky says the first trial will happen & then the second one will be scheduled. Next pretrial conference hearing on 2/10/25 @ 8:30am.

She's just sticking with her "nobody was murdered" defense that she presented both at her Idaho trial and more recently on her phone call with Colby. No doubt she'll apply it in Charles' case, too. According to her, she hasn't mentioned zombies in any of the evidence. Her arrogance knows no bounds.

Maybe she asked her attorneys about the publicity. Did she think people would forget by now about her crimes? Or perhaps her family (mother and/or sister) told her about it, although reportedly they don't discuss her cases with her and likely don't watch Court TV.

If Lori hadn't murdered Tylee, perhaps she could testify in Lori's defense. Lori is a piece of work: she killed Tylee, made her a scapegoat in JJ's death and now tries to use her as her witness.

Charles deserves justice.
And even though Brandon has apparently forgiven Melani..... I would love to see anything brought to trial that addresses her, and all she knew.
Sometimes, we get so tired of the wait, and we back off staying up to date.
I will gladly wait, and not lose interest in these two trials...
